Plagiarism Policy

JRPD (Jurnal Review Pendidikan Dasar: Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan dan Hasil Penelitian) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and publishing ethics. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and duplicate submissions are strictly prohibited.

Plagiarism Screening & Threshold

  1. Screening Tool: All submitted manuscripts undergo mandatory plagiarism screening using Turnitin prior to starting the peer-review process.
  2. Maximum Similarity Index: The maximum allowable similarity index is 20%.
  3. Primary Source Matching: Excessive verbatim similarity from a single source even if below the overall 20% limit is considered unacceptable and must be properly paraphrased and cited.

Forms of Unethical Content Prohibited

The journal strictly rejects the following forms of misconduct:

  1. Direct Plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word from another source without quotation marks and proper citation.
  2. Self-Plagiarism / Auto-Plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of the author's own previously published work without explicit cross-referencing and justification.
  3. Paraphrasing Plagiarism: Restructuring or rewording another author's ideas or findings without giving appropriate attribution.
  4. Data Fabrication & Falsification: Inventing, altering, or selectively omitting research data and findings.

Editorial Actions for Violations

  1. Pre-Review Stage (> 20% Similarity): The manuscript will be immediately rejected or sent back to the authors for comprehensive rewriting and resubmission.
  2. Under Review / Post-Acceptance Stage: If plagiarism or unethical overlap is identified during peer review or typesetting, the evaluation process will be suspended immediately, and the authors will be asked to provide an official explanation. Unacceptable explanations will result in immediate manuscript rejection.
  3. Post-Publication Stage: If severe plagiarism or misconduct is proven after publication, JRPD will issue a formal Retraction Notice in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
