Conflict of Interest

JRPD (Jurnal Review Pendidikan Dasar: Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan dan Hasil Penelitian) requires all authors, reviewers, and editors to declare any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could inappropriately influence or bias the peer-review, editorial decision-making, or publishing process.

Definition of Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest exists when financial, personal, academic, or professional relationships interfere with or could reasonably be perceived to interfere with the objective presentation, review, or publication of research findings.

Responsibilities of Stakeholders

  1. For Authors
    • Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest in their manuscript or covering letter upon submission.
    • Authors must declare all sources of financial support, research grants, corporate sponsorships, or commercial affiliations related to the study.
    • If no conflict exists, authors must include an explicit statement: “The authors declare no potential conflict of interest regarding the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article.”
  2. For Reviewers
    • Reviewers must decline invitations to evaluate a manuscript if they have a financial, personal, or collaborative connection with any of the authors or institutions involved.
    • Reviewers must not use unpublished information or ideas from a assigned manuscript for their own personal advantage or research pursuits.
  3. For Editors
    • Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts authored by colleagues, current collaborators, students, or family members.
    • Editorial decisions must be based solely on the manuscript's scientific merit, relevance to primary education, and reviewers' evaluation, free from commercial or institutional influence.

Handling Disclosed Conflicts

Disclosed conflicts of interest do not automatically lead to manuscript rejection. However, full transparency allows reviewers and editorial decision-makers to evaluate the work with complete context. If an undisclosed conflict of interest is discovered post-publication, JRPD will follow COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to issue a formal clarification or retraction notice.
