ANTI-PLAGIARISM AND SIMILARITY POLICY

All manuscripts submitted to JPEKA: Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi, Manajemen dan Keuangan must represent original scholarly work, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration for publication by another journal or publisher. Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality, authenticity, and integrity of every manuscript they submit.

As part of the initial editorial assessment, submitted manuscripts may be screened using similarity-detection software, including Turnitin and/or iThenticate. JPEKA’s published journal information states that the maximum permitted plagiarism/similarity rate is 25%, with screening conducted by the editorial team using Turnitin. Authors should consult the latest journal instructions for the applicable screening requirements.

The similarity index is a screening indicator and must not, on its own, be treated as conclusive proof of plagiarism. Editors assess the report in context, taking into account the sources and nature of the matches, their extent and distribution, and the circumstances in which overlapping text appears. The assessment may consider legitimate quotations and citations, reference lists, standard methodological descriptions, preprints, repositories, and other material previously made available.

A similarity percentage alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. A manuscript that meets the numerical screening benchmark may still contain inappropriate overlap, while some matches may arise from properly attributed or otherwise legitimate material. The Editorial Team therefore evaluates the report alongside the manuscript’s citations, attribution, and scholarly context.

If the Editorial Team identifies overlapping material that appears inappropriate, inadequately attributed, or cannot be satisfactorily explained, it may request clarification or revision, return or reject the manuscript, or take another proportionate editorial measure. Any action will be guided by JPEKA’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement and, where relevant, its Research Misconduct and Post-Publication Policy.
