Retraction and Correction Policy
Open Access Policy
The Journal of Political Islam (JOPI) is committed to the principles of open science and unrestricted access to scholarly knowledge. As part of our mission to foster a global academic dialogue on political Islam and its intersection with governance, society, and human rights, this journal provides immediate and permanent open access to all published content, in line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Free and Universal Accessibility
All articles published in the Journal of Political Islam (JOPI) are freely accessible online, without any financial, legal, or technical barriers. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full texts, or use the content for any lawful purpose without prior permission from the publisher or authors, as long as the original work is properly cited. This policy maximizes the global visibility, reach, and impact of our authors’ work.
Author Rights and Licensing
Authors retain the copyright of their articles and grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which allows others to distribute and build upon the work, even commercially, as long as proper credit is given to the original author(s) and source.
Commitment to the Open Access Vision
Following BOAI, we believe that removing access barriers to scholarly literature accelerates research, promotes educational equity, bridges the knowledge divide between the Global North and South, and empowers scholars and policymakers worldwide. The Journal of Political Islam recognizes that open access is not merely a publishing model, but a transformative movement toward democratizing knowledge production and dissemination.
Sustainability and Cost Management
While access to readers is free, producing high-quality peer-reviewed publications incurs costs. The Journal of Political Islam (JOPI) currently operates under a diamond/platinum open access model, meaning no article processing charges (APCs) are levied on authors. This is made possible through institutional support, editorial volunteerism, and efficient use of digital publishing platforms.
As the journal grows toward international indexing and Scopus inclusion, we are exploring long-term sustainable models — including partnerships with academic consortia, governmental bodies, or philanthropic organizations — to maintain open access without compromising academic standards or burdening contributors.
Institutional and Global Support
The Journal of Political Islam (JOPI) welcomes collaboration with universities, research institutes, funding bodies, and open knowledge advocates to support the advancement of open access. We invite stakeholders to join us in promoting equitable access to political knowledge and in building a scholarly ecosystem where knowledge is freely shared for the betterment of societies.
