Morphometry and Organ Indices of Broilers After Supplementation of Sargassum glaucescens (J. Agardh, 1848) Ethanolic Extract

Abstrak

Ayam broiler adalah sumber protein utama karena laju pertumbuhan yang cepat, yang dipengaruhi oleh nutrisi dalam pakan. Makroalga laut Sargassum glaucescens kaya akan komponen bioaktif yang berpotensi dijadikan tambahan pakan broiler. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efek pemberian ekstrak etanolik Sargassum glaucescens (SGE) terhadap morfometri dan indeks organ broiler. Sebanyak 300 DOC broiler strain Cobb 500 dibagi ke dalam 4 perlakuan berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, dan tiap perlakuan dibuat 5 ulangan dengan masing-masing terdiri dari 15 ekor ayam. Perlakuan SGE diberikan dengan variasi K (0% SGE/Pakan Basal (BF)), P1 (0,5% SGE/kg BF), P2 (1% SGE/kg BF), dan P3 (2% SGE/kg BF). Parameter yang diamati berupa morfometri (panjang paruh, leher, kepala, punggung, sayap, paha, lingkar dada, dan tinggi badan) dan indeks organ (liver, gizzard, lien, bursa, usus, dan panjang usus). Data dianalisis menggunakan One-Way ANOVA diikuti uji Duncan dengan signifikansi P≤0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian SGE secara signifikan meningkatkan morfometri dan indeks organ broiler seiring peningkatan konsentrasi dibandingkan kontrol. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemberian SGE hingga 2% mampu meningkatkan morfometri dan indeks organ broiler.
