Conflict of Interest Policy

JP (Jurnal Pendidikan): Teori dan Praktik is committed to ensuring that scholarly publication decisions are made fairly, transparently, and independently.

A conflict of interest may arise when financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships could influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, scholarly judgment.

1. Conflicts of Interest for Authors

Authors must disclose relevant financial and nonfinancial relationships that could influence the conduct, interpretation, or reporting of their research.

Potential conflicts may include research funding, employment, consultancy arrangements, institutional affiliations, personal relationships, or other interests associated with the research.

All sources of research funding should be identified where applicable.

Authors must provide a conflict of interest statement in their manuscripts, including when there are no relevant conflicts to declare.

2. Conflicts of Interest for Reviewers

Reviewers must disclose any relationship or interest that could compromise their independence or objectivity.

Reviewers should decline an invitation or inform the handling editor when they have a significant personal, professional, financial, or institutional connection to the manuscript or its authors.

Reviewers must not use unpublished material obtained through the review process for personal or professional advantage.

3. Conflicts of Interest for Editors

Editors must avoid handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest could impair their impartiality.

An editor with a significant conflict should disclose it and withdraw from the relevant editorial decision-making process.

An alternative qualified editor may be appointed to manage the manuscript.

4. Editorial Independence

Publication decisions must be based on academic merit, originality, methodological quality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Financial arrangements, institutional relationships, or external interests must not determine whether a manuscript is accepted or rejected.

5. Management of Disclosed Conflicts

The editorial team will evaluate disclosed conflicts in relation to their nature, significance, and potential effects on the publication process.

Where necessary, the journal may request additional information, appoint an independent reviewer or editor, or take other proportionate measures.

Disclosure does not necessarily disqualify a manuscript from publication.

6. Undisclosed Conflicts

If a significant undisclosed conflict is identified during or after publication, the journal may seek clarification and take appropriate editorial action.

Such concerns will be addressed in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Correction and Retraction policies.

7. Suggested Disclosure Statements

No Conflict of Interest

"The authors declare that they have no financial or nonfinancial conflicts of interest relevant to this research."

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

"The authors disclose the following potential conflicts of interest: [describe the relevant relationship or interest]."

JP (Jurnal Pendidikan): Teori dan Praktik expects all participants in scholarly publishing to maintain transparency and act responsibly when conflicts of interest arise.
