Peer Review Process
Every manuscript submitted to JIEET goes through editorial screening and double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject, at least one of whom is from an institution other than the authors'. JIEET aims to involve reviewers from multiple institutions and countries.
Review stages
- Initial screening (≤ 7 days): the editor checks scope, compliance with the template and author guidelines, language quality, and similarity (Turnitin). Manuscripts that fail are declined or returned to the authors without external review.
- Reviewer assignment: the handling editor invites at least two reviewers who have no conflict of interest with the authors. Author names, affiliations, and acknowledgments are removed from the manuscript and file properties.
- Peer review (≤ 4 weeks): reviewers assess originality, novelty, relevance to the scope, soundness of methods, validity of results, quality of discussion, clarity of writing, and the currency and relevance of references, using the JIEET review form.
- Editorial decision: the handling editor considers all reviews and recommends a decision to the Editor-in-Chief. If reviewers disagree, a third reviewer may be invited.
- Revision (≤ 14 days, up to 30 days for major revisions): authors revise and upload a response letter explaining how each comment was addressed. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the reviewers.
- Final decision: the Editor-in-Chief makes the final acceptance or rejection decision.
- Production: accepted manuscripts are copyedited, laid out, proofread by the authors, assigned a DOI, and published.

Reviewers treat manuscripts as confidential documents, give objective and constructive comments supported by reasons, report any suspected ethical problems to the editor, and decline invitations they cannot complete on time or in which they have a conflict of interest. Reviewers are acknowledged annually on the journal website and may receive a review certificate.
Appeals
Authors may appeal a rejection once, by e-mail to the Editor-in-Chief within 30 days, with a point-by-point rebuttal. The appeal is assessed by an editor not involved in the original decision, and the appeal decision is final.
