Authorship Criteria
JIEET follows the authorship criteria of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Every person listed as an author must meet all four of the following criteria:
- Substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
- Drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content.
- Final approval of the version to be published.
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions about accuracy or integrity are properly investigated and resolved.
Contributors who are not authors
People who contributed but do not meet all four criteria (for example, providing funding, general supervision, technical assistance, data collection only, or language editing) must be listed in the Acknowledgments section, not as authors.
Corresponding author
The corresponding author handles all communication with the journal during submission, review, and publication. The corresponding author confirms that all co-authors have seen and approved the final manuscript and agree to its submission.
Author contributions
Manuscripts with two or more authors must include an Author Contributions statement, preferably using the CRediT taxonomy (e.g., Conceptualization, Methodology, Software, Formal analysis, Writing – original draft, Writing – review & editing).
Changes to authorship
The order and list of authors must be final at submission. Any addition, removal, or reordering after submission requires a written request from the corresponding author, with the reason and signed consent of all authors, including the person being added or removed. No changes are accepted after the article is published, except through a formal correction.
Use of AI tools
Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) cannot be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the work. Authors who use such tools in writing or data analysis must disclose how they were used in the Methods or Acknowledgments section and remain fully responsible for the content.
ORCID
All authors are encouraged, and corresponding authors are required, to provide an ORCID iD in their OJS profile.
