Post-Publication Discussion
JIEET welcomes scholarly discussion of its published articles, because open critique helps correct the scientific record and improve research.
Letters to the Editor
- Readers may submit a Letter to the Editor commenting on, questioning, or criticizing an article published in JIEET within the last 12 months.
- Letters must be no longer than 1,000 words and 10 references, focus on the scientific content of the article, and be written respectfully, without personal attacks.
- Letters are submitted by e-mail to [jieet e-mail] with the subject "Letter to the Editor – [article title]".
- The editor assesses each letter. If it raises a substantive point, the original authors are invited to reply within 30 days, and the letter and reply may be published together in the next issue.
Online discussion
- Readers may also discuss articles on external platforms such as PubPeer. JIEET monitors such discussion and contacts the authors where a serious concern is raised.
- Concerns that point to errors, data problems, or misconduct are handled under the Correction and Retraction and Allegation of Research Misconduct policies.
Authors' obligations
Authors are expected to respond promptly and constructively to legitimate questions about their published work, and to share underlying data or code on reasonable request where ethical and legal constraints allow.
