The Journal of Penelitian Pendidikan Matematika dan Sains (JPPMS), with online ISSN 2580-586X, is dedicated to supporting an inclusive and transparent academic publishing environment. The journal publishes scholarly studies in mathematics and science education, covering learning innovation, assessment and evaluation, instructional media, misconceptions, curriculum and philosophy, and educational psychology in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology education.
The journal applies a no-fee publication policy to ensure that financial limitations do not prevent researchers from disseminating their scholarly findings. Authors are not charged for manuscript submission, editorial screening, peer review, publication, or related administrative processes. Published articles are also accessible to readers without subscription payments.
Editorial decisions are made independently of financial considerations and are based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance, methodological soundness, and ethical compliance of submitted manuscripts.
1. Submission Fee
The journal does not require authors to pay a submission fee.
Authors can submit their manuscripts through the journal's official submission system without incurring an initial processing or administrative charge. Registration and manuscript submission are provided without payment obligations.
The editorial team will assess submitted manuscripts according to the journal's established procedures without requesting payment as a prerequisite for the initial evaluation or consideration for peer review.
Although submission is free of charge, authors must still follow the journal's author guidelines, manuscript formatting requirements, publication ethics, and editorial procedures.
2. Article Processing and Publication Charges
The journal does not impose an Article Processing Charge (APC) or other publication-related fees.
Authors are not required to make payments when their manuscripts are accepted, prepared for publication, or published online. The journal applies the same fee policy regardless of the authors' academic positions, institutional affiliations, countries, research funding, or collaborative arrangements.
The following activities are provided without charge:
-
Preliminary editorial screening.
-
Peer-review coordination and administration.
-
Manuscript revision and editorial assessment.
-
Acceptance and publication administration.
-
Online publication of accepted articles.
-
Management of article metadata within the publication system.
-
Routine communication between authors and the editorial office.
Manuscripts are accepted or rejected based on their academic merit and compliance with the journal's standards. Financial contributions do not influence editorial decisions, and payment cannot guarantee acceptance or publication.
3. Proofreading and Language Support
The journal does not require authors to pay for proofreading, language editing, or manuscript preparation services as a condition of publication.
Authors are responsible for submitting manuscripts that meet the journal's language, clarity, and formatting standards. If additional language assistance is needed, authors may independently use external services at their discretion. Such services are optional and are not a mandatory requirement imposed by the journal.
No compulsory fees are charged for proofreading, language correction, or manuscript formatting. Editorial consideration remains focused on the manuscript's academic quality, readability, suitability for the journal's scope, and compliance with submission requirements.
4. Fast-Track Review and Expedited Processing
The journal does not provide paid fast-track review services or preferential editorial treatment in exchange for financial contributions.
Every manuscript follows the journal's established editorial and peer-review procedures. The duration of each stage may differ depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, the revisions required, and other relevant editorial circumstances.
Authors cannot obtain guaranteed acceptance, a guaranteed Letter of Acceptance (LoA), or a specific publication date by making a payment. All requests for updates regarding manuscript progress are handled through the regular communication channels of the editorial office.
Any decision to adjust the handling of a manuscript must preserve the independence of reviewers, the fairness of editorial evaluation, and the integrity of the publication process.
5. Fee Waivers and Financial Assistance
Since the journal does not charge submission, processing, peer-review, or publication fees, authors do not need to submit a fee-waiver application to publish their research.
The no-fee policy applies equally to undergraduate students, postgraduate students, lecturers, independent researchers, and researchers affiliated with different institutions or countries.
Researchers with limited funding opportunities may submit their manuscripts under the same conditions as those supported by institutional budgets or research grants. The journal does not require financial hardship documentation, special approval, or a separate application to benefit from its publication policy.
6. Manuscript Withdrawal and Post-Publication Administrative Changes
The journal does not impose administrative charges for manuscript withdrawal initiated by authors or for legitimate requests to amend published information.
Manuscript Withdrawal
Authors who intend to withdraw a submitted manuscript must notify the editorial office in writing and explain the reason for their request. When necessary, the editorial team may request confirmation from co-authors to establish that the withdrawal has been properly authorized and respects the rights and responsibilities of all contributors.
Withdrawal requests are considered in accordance with the journal's editorial procedures and applicable publication ethics standards. The withdrawal process is not considered complete until the editorial office has confirmed the outcome.
No withdrawal fee is charged, regardless of whether a manuscript is still undergoing initial assessment, peer review, revision, acceptance, or editorial preparation.
If a withdrawal request involves possible duplicate submission, authorship conflicts, research misconduct, or other ethical concerns, the journal may conduct an appropriate investigation. Such circumstances do not constitute grounds for imposing a withdrawal charge.
Post-Publication Changes
Requests to correct errors or amend author details, article metadata, and other published information are evaluated according to the journal's correction and retraction procedures.
Depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue, the journal may issue a correction, erratum, corrigendum, expression of concern, or retraction.
Legitimate post-publication corrections and related editorial actions are processed without administrative or production fees. Each request is assessed based on its supporting evidence, validity, ethical implications, and potential effect on the accuracy of the scholarly record.
The editorial team retains the authority to determine the appropriate action. A request for amendment does not automatically guarantee approval.
Actions to Protect Publication Integrity
The journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and credibility of its published research. Financial considerations will never prevent necessary editorial action to address verified scientific errors, ethical violations, legal concerns, authorship disputes, or other research-integrity issues.
When such matters arise, the journal evaluates them under its applicable editorial and publication ethics policies. Authors will not be charged for corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other editorial measures required to safeguard the scholarly record.
7. Subscription and Access Fees
The journal supports the dissemination of scholarly research through accessible online publication.
Readers are not required to pay subscription fees or article access charges to read the journal's published content. Articles are available online without payment for individual access or subscription.
The use, reproduction, and distribution of published materials remain subject to the journal's applicable Open Access Policy, Copyright Policy, and licensing terms. Readers and other users must comply with the relevant license conditions, including attribution requirements where applicable.
This policy is intended to broaden access to research findings and support knowledge exchange among researchers, educators, students, academic institutions, and the wider scientific community.
8. Journal Funding and Financial Transparency
The journal maintains a publication model that does not depend on submission, peer-review, processing, or publication fees paid by authors. Readers can also access published articles without subscription charges.
The absence of publication fees does not reduce the journal's responsibility to maintain rigorous editorial standards, fair peer review, and ethical publishing practices.
Any institutional support, sponsorship, or other financial assistance received by the journal, where applicable, must be managed transparently. Such support must not interfere with the evaluation of individual manuscripts or influence the scientific content of published articles.
Funding arrangements and financial relationships must not grant authors, sponsors, or other parties authority over reviewer recommendations or editorial decisions. The editorial team remains responsible for ensuring that all publication decisions are based on scholarly quality, relevance, research rigor, and compliance with journal policies.
9. Advertising and Commercial Interests
Advertising, sponsorship, and other commercial activities associated with the journal must remain independent of editorial decision-making.
Commercial relationships must not affect the selection, evaluation, acceptance, rejection, or publication of manuscripts. Advertisers, sponsors, and commercial partners are not entitled to preferential treatment because of financial contributions or institutional connections.
The journal seeks to ensure that relevant commercial relationships are disclosed and managed appropriately so that its academic independence and the credibility of its publications are maintained.
The no-fee policy also prohibits hidden charges, compulsory purchases, or undisclosed financial arrangements that could create barriers to manuscript submission or publication.
10. Direct Marketing and Manuscript Invitations
The journal may distribute information about its aims, scope, publication activities, and calls for papers through appropriate academic communication channels.
All promotional activities and invitations to submit manuscripts must be accurate, professional, and consistent with the journal's actual editorial policies and publishing practices.
Communications must not suggest that payment can secure manuscript acceptance, accelerate approval, guarantee a Letter of Acceptance, or provide preferential editorial treatment. The journal must also ensure that statements regarding indexing, review procedures, and publication services are accurate and verifiable.
Information about publication costs must clearly reflect the journal's formally established fee policy. Authors must not be asked to pay charges that have not been officially adopted and disclosed by the journal.
11. Editorial Independence from Financial Considerations
Editorial independence is an essential principle governing the journal's publishing activities.
Because the journal does not impose submission, peer-review, processing, or publication fees, an author's financial circumstances do not determine whether a manuscript may be submitted, reviewed, or published.
The following principles guide the journal's editorial practices:
-
Manuscripts are assessed according to academic quality, relevance, and ethical standards.
-
Authors are not required to pay for peer review or publication.
-
Financial contributions do not entitle authors to preferential treatment.
-
Editorial decisions are independent of the author's funding status or financial capacity.
-
Necessary corrections and other actions to preserve the scholarly record are not subject to administrative charges.
-
Commercial and financial relationships must not override editorial judgment.
The editorial team is responsible for applying these principles consistently and preserving the integrity, fairness, and credibility of the journal's publication process.
12. Policy Review
The journal may periodically review its publication fee policy to ensure consistency with its editorial procedures, publishing model, and applicable scholarly publishing standards.
Any proposed modification that affects the no-fee publication arrangement must undergo formal consideration and be announced through the journal's official website before implementation.
Until a revision has been formally approved and publicly announced, the currently published policy remains applicable. Fees must not be introduced or collected through informal requests, individual arrangements, or communications that have not been officially authorized.
Through this policy, the journal seeks to maintain a transparent and accessible publishing environment in which authors can disseminate their research and readers can access scholarly articles without publication or subscription charges.
