Data Availability

The Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Matematika dan Sains (JPPMS), published by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, is committed to promoting transparency, research integrity, and reproducibility in scholarly publications. The journal encourages responsible data management and clear reporting of research data to support the verification and reproducibility of findings in mathematics and science education research.

Data Availability

Every manuscript submitted to JPPMS must include a Data Availability Statement describing the availability of the research data supporting the findings of the study. Authors must clearly indicate whether the data are:

  • publicly available through a repository or other accessible source;
  • available from the Authors upon reasonable request; or
  • subject to ethical, legal, privacy, or institutional restrictions.

The Data Availability Statement must accurately reflect the actual availability of the data and specify any applicable conditions or restrictions on access. The statement should be included in the manuscript in accordance with the journal's manuscript preparation guidelines.

For research involving mathematics and science education, supporting data may include, where applicable, assessment results, questionnaire responses, interview transcripts, classroom observations, learning outcome measurements, experimental results, instructional materials, and data generated through the development or evaluation of learning media. Authors are encouraged to share relevant data and supporting materials when it is appropriate and permitted by applicable ethical and institutional requirements.

Where research data cannot be made publicly available, Authors must explain the relevant ethical, legal, privacy, or institutional restrictions. In studies involving students, teachers, schools, or other research participants, Authors must take appropriate measures to protect personal information and maintain participant confidentiality.

Author Responsibility and Reproducibility

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the research data, research procedures, and analyses reported in their manuscripts. They should ensure that the data and methodological information provided are sufficient to support the reported findings and facilitate verification by other researchers, where applicable.

Through the Statement of Manuscript Authenticity, where required by the journal, Authors confirm that their manuscript includes a Data Availability Statement accurately describing the status of the supporting research data. Authors also confirm that they have appropriate access to the data necessary to support their work, accept responsibility for the accuracy of the data analysis, and have the authority to prepare and submit the manuscript for publication.

To support reproducibility in mathematics and science education research, Authors are encouraged to provide clear descriptions of research methods, instruments, assessment procedures, data analysis techniques, and learning interventions. Where relevant, supplementary materials, research instruments, instructional designs, experimental procedures, and analysis documentation may be provided to help other researchers understand and evaluate the reported findings.

The sharing and use of research data must comply with applicable ethical standards, informed consent requirements, privacy protections, and institutional policies. Data availability does not override obligations to protect research participants or confidential information.

Author Declaration

Authors must ensure that the Data Availability Statement accurately describes the availability of the research data supporting their manuscripts and the conditions under which those data may be accessed.

The Data Availability Statement must be included in the manuscript in accordance with the applicable JPPMS manuscript preparation guidelines. Where a Statement of Manuscript Authenticity or equivalent declaration is required, Authors must confirm the availability, accessibility, and integrity of the research data supporting their work, consistent with the actual circumstances of the study.

JPPMS encourages transparent reporting and responsible data sharing to strengthen research integrity, support the verification of findings, and promote the reproducibility and further development of research in mathematics and science education, while respecting applicable ethical, legal, privacy, and institutional requirements.
