AI Usage Policy

JPUS: Jurnal Pendidikan Untuk Semua recognizes the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic research and writing. This policy outlines the acceptable use of AI technologies in manuscripts submitted to and published in this journal, in accordance with Permendiktisaintek No. 9 Tahun 2026 concerning Journal Accreditation.

For Authors

Permitted uses of AI:
Authors may use AI tools to assist with language editing, grammar checking, proofreading, and improving readability and clarity of the manuscript.

Prohibited uses of AI:
AI tools must not be used to generate research findings, data analysis, interpretation of results, or the substantive intellectual content of the manuscript, including the literature review, discussion, and conclusions. AI-generated text must not be submitted as original scholarly work without substantial human intellectual contribution and critical revision.

Authorship:
AI tools cannot be listed as an author or co-author of a manuscript, as authorship requires accountability for the work, which AI tools cannot assume.

Mandatory Disclosure:
Authors must disclose any use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscript through a mandatory AI Usage Statement, to be included at the end of the manuscript (before the References section). Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content, regardless of any AI assistance used.

Example AI Usage Statement (if AI tools were used):

"During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [name of AI tool, e.g., Grammarly, ChatGPT] for [stated purpose, e.g., language editing and proofreading]. The author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take full responsibility for the content of this publication."

Example AI Usage Statement (if no AI tools were used):

"No AI tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript."

For Reviewers

Reviewers are strictly prohibited from using AI tools to conduct or assist in the substantive peer-review process, including the evaluation of manuscript quality, originality, methodology, and scholarly contribution. Uploading manuscript content to AI-based platforms also raises confidentiality concerns, as it may expose unpublished work to third parties, and is therefore not permitted under any circumstances.

For Editors

Editors are responsible for verifying that all accepted manuscripts include a complete and accurate AI Usage Statement prior to publication. Manuscripts found to have undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI in generating substantive content may be returned to the author for clarification, or rejected if the use of AI is found to compromise the originality and integrity of the work.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to reflect developments in AI technology and updates to national and international publication ethics guidelines.
