Publication Ethics

JCGC (Journal of Cultural Guidance and Counseling) is fully committed to ethical publication practices and upholding academic integrity in every stage of the publishing process. We strictly oppose all forms of ethical misconduct, including plagiarism and duplicate submissions. All parties involved—authors, editors, and reviewers—are expected to adhere to the ethical standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

A. Publication Ethics

  • All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process by qualified experts in the relevant field.
  • Manuscripts are evaluated based on relevance, originality, scientific significance, readability, and proper structure.
  • Editorial decisions include: acceptance, revision, or rejection.
  • Rejected manuscripts will not be re-reviewed and may not be submitted elsewhere simultaneously.

B. Authors’ Responsibilities

  • Authors must confirm that their work is original and has not been published elsewhere.
  • All listed authors should have made significant contributions to the research.
  • Authors must provide accurate data and cite all sources appropriately.
  • Authors are responsible for correcting or retracting articles if errors are found after publication.
  • Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed clearly.

C. Reviewers’ Responsibilities

  • Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents.
  • Reviews must be objective, constructive, and based on scholarly reasoning.
  • Reviewers are expected to report any instances of plagiarism or substantial similarity with other works.
  • Reviewers must avoid reviewing manuscripts if conflicts of interest exist with the authors or affiliated institutions.

D. Editors’ Responsibilities

  • Editors have full responsibility for the final decision regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection, based on academic merit and journal relevance.
  • Editors must ensure a fair, unbiased, and transparent review process.
  • Editors must maintain the confidentiality of authors and reviewers during and after the review process.
  • In case of suspected ethical violations, editors are obligated to take appropriate investigative and corrective action based on established procedures.
