Plagiarism Definition

Plagiarism in JCGC includes but is not limited to:

  • Using words, phrases, sentences, data, or information from another source without proper citation or adequate acknowledgment;
  • Citing terms, sentences, or information randomly without correct source referencing;
  • Presenting ideas, opinions, views, or theories from other works without appropriately crediting the original source;
  • Paraphrasing or reformulating content—whether words or ideas—from other sources without sufficient citation;
  • Submitting scientific papers or works created or published by others as one’s original work without proper acknowledgment.

Prevention Measures

JCGC is committed to ensuring academic integrity by limiting the similarity index of all published articles to a maximum of 20%. To enforce this, all submissions undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin software.

Sanctions for Violations

When plagiarism or ethical breaches are identified, JCGC may impose sanctions including:

  • Issuing formal reprimands;
  • Sending official warning letters;
  • Revoking acceptance or publication of the article;
  • Canceling the publication altogether.
