Publication Ethics

SJESE - STEAM Journal for Elementary School Education is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics to ensure the integrity, quality, and credibility of the research published. This journal adheres to the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability. The following ethical policies apply to authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

1. Authorship and Originality

  • All submitted manuscripts must be original work and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Authors must ensure that their work does not contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or duplicate publication. Any text or data borrowed from other sources must be properly cited.
  • Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.

2. Peer Review Process

  • The journal employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure impartiality and quality. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and have no conflicts of interest with the authors.
  • Reviewers must provide constructive, unbiased feedback and maintain confidentiality of the manuscripts they review.
  • Editors are responsible for overseeing the peer review process and making final decisions based on reviewer recommendations and journal policies.

3. Conflicts of Interest

  • All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could influence their work.
  • Conflicts of interest must be declared at the time of submission or review, and the editorial team will assess their impact on the publication process.

4. Data Integrity and Reproducibility

  • Authors are required to present accurate and complete data. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is strictly prohibited.
  • Raw data should be available for review upon request to ensure reproducibility, where applicable and ethical.

5. Handling Misconduct

  • Suspected cases of ethical misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication) will be investigated thoroughly by the editorial board.
  • If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken, including retraction of the article, notification to the authors’ institutions, and a public statement in the journal.

6. Open Access and Copyright

  • SJESE - STEAM Journal operates under an open-access model, allowing free access to all published content under a Creative Commons license (CC BY).
  • Authors retain copyright but grant the journal the right to publish and distribute their work.
