Plagiarism Policy
JP2KG AUD is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that all published articles meet high standards of originality, accuracy, and ethical scholarly communication. Plagiarism and other forms of publication misconduct are unacceptable and will be addressed in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
- Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the use of another person's words, ideas, data, findings, images, or other intellectual contributions without appropriate acknowledgment or attribution. It includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct plagiarism: Reproducing text or other material from a source without proper quotation, citation, or acknowledgment.
- Mosaic plagiarism: Combining phrases, sentences, or ideas from multiple sources without adequate attribution.
- Paraphrasing plagiarism: Rewriting another author's ideas or arguments without appropriate citation.
- Data and image plagiarism: Using research data, tables, figures, photographs, or other visual materials without proper acknowledgment or permission where required.
- Self-plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of one's previously published work without appropriate citation or disclosure.
- Duplicate publication: Publishing substantially overlapping work in more than one publication without appropriate justification and disclosure.
Proper citation is required whenever authors use or build upon the work of others.
- Originality Requirements
Manuscripts submitted to JP2KG AUD must represent original scholarly work and must not be under consideration by another journal at the same time.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources are appropriately cited and that quotations, paraphrases, data, and visual materials are presented accurately.
Previously published material may be included only when its use is justified, transparently acknowledged, and consistent with applicable copyright and publication ethics requirements.
- Similarity Checking
JP2KG AUD may use plagiarism-detection or text-similarity software to screen submitted manuscripts before or during the editorial process.
Similarity reports are used as an initial screening tool to identify potentially overlapping text or material. A similarity percentage alone does not establish whether plagiarism has occurred, since legitimate quotations, references, technical terminology, and standard methodological descriptions may contribute to similarity scores.
The editorial team will assess the nature, location, extent, and context of any identified overlap before determining whether further action is necessary.
- Similarity Threshold and Editorial Assessment
JP2KG AUD evaluates manuscript originality on a case-by-case basis. The journal may establish an internal similarity threshold to support initial screening; however, no single percentage should be treated as definitive proof of plagiarism or as an automatic guarantee of acceptance.
The editorial assessment will consider whether overlapping material is properly cited, whether substantial passages have been reproduced without attribution, and whether the manuscript demonstrates an original scholarly contribution.
Where necessary, authors may be asked to clarify sources, revise overlapping passages, provide supporting documentation, or explain the originality of their work.
- Plagiarism in AI-Assisted Manuscripts
Authors who use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies must comply with the journal's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics Policy.
AI-generated text does not exempt authors from the obligation to provide accurate citations, verify sources, and ensure originality. Authors remain responsible for identifying and correcting fabricated references, unattributed material, misleading paraphrases, and other forms of inappropriate content.
AI-detection scores alone will not be considered sufficient evidence of plagiarism or research misconduct.
- Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to JP2KG AUD are required to:
- Ensure that the manuscript is original and properly acknowledges all sources.
- Cite the original sources of ideas, theories, data, quotations, and other intellectual contributions.
- Use quotation marks or appropriate formatting when reproducing exact wording.
- Obtain permission for copyrighted materials when required.
- Disclose relevant prior publications and overlapping manuscripts.
- Review the manuscript carefully before submission to identify citation errors, unattributed passages, and inappropriate reuse of previously published material.
- Handling Suspected Plagiarism
If potential plagiarism or other originality concerns are identified, JP2KG AUD will assess the available evidence and may contact the corresponding author for clarification.
Depending on the nature and severity of the concern, the journal may:
- Request corrections or revisions before peer review.
- Return the manuscript for clarification or additional documentation.
- Reject the manuscript if substantial or serious plagiarism is established.
- Suspend editorial processing while the matter is investigated.
- Notify the relevant institution or other appropriate parties when warranted.
- Issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction for a published article when justified.
All cases will be assessed individually, with due consideration of the evidence, the authors' explanations, and applicable publication ethics standards.
- Plagiarism Discovered After Publication
If plagiarism is identified after publication, JP2KG AUD will investigate the concern in accordance with its publication ethics procedures.
Where misconduct is established, the journal may publish a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the seriousness and implications of the violation. Any action will be documented transparently to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
- Editorial and Reviewer Responsibilities
Editors and reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality and report reasonable concerns about plagiarism or inappropriate reuse of material to the editorial office.
Reviewers should not publicly disclose unpublished material or use information from manuscripts under review for personal or professional advantage.
Editors are responsible for evaluating potential plagiarism concerns fairly and consistently, without relying exclusively on automated similarity reports.
- Commitment to Publication Integrity
JP2KG AUD is committed to promoting originality, proper attribution, transparency, and responsible research practices in early childhood education, parenting, health, and nutrition.
By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge their responsibility to comply with this policy and to uphold the ethical standards of scholarly publication.
