Archiving Policy

JSSEI is committed to maintaining the long-term availability of published articles. Articles, metadata, and publication information will be stored through a digital archiving system or appropriate repository.

The archiving policy aims to ensure that articles can still be found and accessed despite changes in the journal's system or management. Archiving also supports the sustainability of scientific records and access to JSSEI publications.

 

Correction and Retraction Policy

JSSEI is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of publication records. If errors are found after the article is published, the journal may publish a Correction to correct incorrect information that is inaccurate but does not affect the main validity of the article.

In more serious cases, journals may publish an Expression of Concern if there are concerns about the reliability of an article that is still under investigation. Retraction can be made if serious problems are found that cause the results or conclusions of the article to be unreliable, such as major errors, data fabrication, plagiarism, or violations of research ethics.

Any corrections or retractions will be transparently documented and linked to the article in question to maintain the journal's scientific record.

 

Data Availability Policy

The author is expected to provide a clear statement regarding the availability of data that supports the research results. Research data is recommended to be stored in a trusted repository whenever possible, so as to support transparency, verification, and further research development.

If the data cannot be shared for reasons of ethics, privacy, confidentiality, or institutional restrictions, the author must explain the reason in the Data Availability Statement.

For articles that do not generate a new dataset, such as a literature review or conceptual article, authors may declare that the availability of data does not apply.

 

Peer Review Policy

JSSEI implements a double-blind peer review process, which is that the identity of the author and reviewer is unknown to each other. Each incoming manuscript will go through an initial examination by the editor to ensure compatibility with the focus and scope of the journal, the completeness of the manuscript, and the fulfillment of the basic requirements of publication.

Manuscripts that meet the requirements will be sent to reviewers who have expertise in accordance with the topic of the article. Reviewers provide assessments objectively, constructively, and based on scientific quality, methodology, novelty, and article contributions. Reviewers are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and avoid conflicts of interest.

The final decision on the acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript is determined by the editor based on the results of the review process and editorial considerations.

 

Plagiarism Policy

JSSEI does not tolerate plagiarism of any kind, including the use of other people's writings, ideas, data, images, or works without appropriate attribution. Each manuscript can go through a similarity check using plagiarism detection software as part of the editorial process.

If indications of plagiarism or other forms of academic integrity violations are found, the editor may request clarification from the author, reject the manuscript, or take further action in accordance with the level of violation and applicable publication ethical principles.

The author is responsible for ensuring that all sources used are cited and listed appropriately.

 

Preprint Policy

JSSEI allows submissions of manuscripts that have previously been available as preprints, as long as the article has not been published as a journal article and is not in the process of being published in another journal.

Authors are required to inform the existence of the preprint version at the time of submission of the manuscript and include the information or preprint DOI if available. After the article is published in JSSEI, authors are encouraged to link the preprint version with the official article that has been published.

Submitting the same article simultaneously to multiple journals is still not allowed because it is an unethical publication practice.

 

Publication Fee Policy

JSSEI implements a publication fee policy set by the journal manager. Information regarding Article Processing Charge (APC) or other publication fees must be communicated transparently to the author before the publication process.

Publication fees, if any, do not affect editorial decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts. Publication decisions are based on scientific quality, suitability with the journal's focus, and the results of the peer review process.

The provisions regarding fees and the possibility of exemption or reduction of fees will be clearly informed on the journal page.

 

Research Ethics Policy

Research published in JSSEI must be conducted in accordance with applicable research ethical principles. Research involving humans, including students, students, teachers, or other respondents, must take into account the rights, safety, privacy, and confidentiality of participants.

The author is responsible for obtaining ethical approval or other necessary approvals according to the type and context of the research. Information regarding ethical consent should be included in the manuscript where relevant.

Editors may request information or supporting documents related to the ethical aspects of the research if necessary to ensure the integrity of the research.
