Author Guidelines
Manuscripts submitted to JSSEI: Journal of Sustainable Science and Educational Innovation must be written in good and clear Indonesian or English. Authors are required to follow the format and structure set by the journal. Manuscripts are recommended to use reference management applications such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote with APA citation style.
In general, the manuscript of the research article is arranged in order: Title; Author's Name; Affiliation; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgments (optional); and Bibliography. For review articles, the structure can be adjusted to the characteristics and objectives of the study.
1. Title
The title should describe the main content of the article in a clear, specific, and informative manner. The title should reflect the main problem, focus, or variable of the research and avoid the use of uncommon abbreviations. The title should be written in Indonesian and English.
2. Author and Affiliate Names
The author's name is written in full without an academic degree or title. The affiliation of each author must be clearly stated, including the study program/department, faculty, university or institution, city, and country. Authors who act as corresponding authors must be provided with an information along with an active email address.
3. Abstract
The abstract must be written concisely, clearly, and informatively. The abstract contains the background or problem, the purpose of the research, the method used, the main results, and the conclusions or implications of the research. The abstract must be understandable independently and not include citations. The abstract is written in Indonesian and English.
4. Keywords
Keywords consist of important terms that represent the content of the article and help the indexing process. Keywords are written in Indonesian and English and separated using semicolons (;). It is recommended to use 3–5 relevant and specific keywords.
5. Introduction
The introduction explains the background of the problem, the context of the research, and the reason for the research to be conducted. The author needs to show the gaps or problems that are the basis of the research and relate them to relevant previous research.
References used in the introduction must be relevant and preferably from up-to-date scientific sources. The final part of the introduction must clearly state the research objectives or research questions.
6. Method
The methods section describes in detail how the research was conducted so that it can be understood and, if possible, replicated by other researchers. This section can include the research design, the subject or participants, the location and time of the study, the instruments, the data collection techniques, the research procedures, and the data analysis techniques.
For research and development or learning innovation, the author needs to explain the stages of development and the process of evaluating the product or model carried out.
7. Results and Discussion
The results section presents the research findings systematically and according to the research objectives. The data can be presented in the form of tables, figures, graphs, or other relevant forms of visualization . The same data does not need to be presented repeatedly in tables, figures, and text.
The discussion section interprets the results of the research and relates it to theories and results of previous research. The discussion must show the meaning of the findings, the contribution of the research, the similarities or differences with previous research, as well as the implications of the research results on science education, learning innovation, the environment, sustainability, or technology according to the focus of the article.
Table
Tables are numbered in order and table titles are placed above the table. Tables must be referenced in text using table numbers. Tables are made simple, clear, and use only the necessary lines to make them easy to read.
Image
Images are numbered in order and the title of the image is placed below the image. The image must be of good quality, clear, and readable. Each image must be referenced in the text and cite the source if it comes from another source.
Equations
Mathematical equations should be numbered sequentially and written using the Equation Editor or the corresponding equation processing tool, not in the form of an image. The number of the equation is placed on the right side.
Units, Abbreviations, and Symbols
Use international units (SIs) consistently. Abbreviations and symbols should be described when they are first used in the text. Already common abbreviations can be used consistently after the initial definition has been given.
8. Conclusion
The conclusion must answer the purpose or question of the research based on the results obtained. The conclusion does not simply repeat the results of the research, but shows the main contribution of the research. If necessary, the author can convey implications or recommendations for further research or development.
9. Acknowledgments
The Acknowledgments section is optional. Authors can express their appreciation to those who support the research, such as institutions, research partners, funders, or other parties who contribute but do not meet the criteria as authors.
10. Bibliography
The bibliography must contain all sources cited in the manuscript and not include unused sources. Authors are encouraged to use relevant and up-to-date scientific references and avoid excessive use of citations.
Citation and bibliography writing follow the APA style. Authors are advised to use reference management applications such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to maintain citation and bibliography consistency. Each reference should be double-checked for its original source, including author name, year, title, volume, number, page, and DOI if available.
