About the Journal

Journal of the Indonesian Mathematics Education Society (JIMES) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal that publishes research and development articles in mathematics education. All submissions are reviewed through a double-blind process to ensure publication quality. JIMES is a periodical publication that publishes articles in the field of research and development of mathematics education, both research results, theory development and the results of the thoughts of practitioners working in the field of mathematics education such as lecturers, teachers, students and other experts. The journal is managed by the Master of Mathematics Education Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, and is published twice a year in both print and online formats.

Before Submission

The author has to ensure the manuscript has been prepared using JIMES Template following the author guidelines. The single author's paper is just for the invited author or the author with a great reputation for research or publication in mathematics education. The manuscript should also have been carefully proofread and similarity checked. Apart from that, the author must also attach an Authorship Form signed by all authors (Download Authorship Form).

Any manuscript which does not meet the author's guidelines, focus, and scope, is written in a different format, or has poor soundness of English will be immediately rejected. The only manuscript which meets the JIMES standard will be processed further.

Issue Description:
This issue features five research articles highlighting innovations in mathematics education and explorations of students’ cognitive and affective aspects in learning. The studies include analyses of junior high school students’ creative thinking in solving fraction and plane geometry problems, and an investigation of how mathematics anxiety and metacognitive insight influence decision-making in problem solving. Other articles discuss the effectiveness of the Think-Pair-Share learning model assisted by Card Sort in improving learning outcomes on inheritance mathematics, as well as the exploration of students’ thinking skills through motivational video-based learning on systems of linear equations in two variables.
