STUDI ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTION PADA MAHASISWA DI MALUKU

Abstract

Mahasiswa di daerah Maluku, Indonesia, menganggap profesi Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) sebagai pekerjaan yang menjanjikan jaminan kesejahteraan sekaligus status sosial dibandingkan menjadi seorang entrepreneur. Hal ini mengindikasikan rendahnya entrepreneurial intention dalam diri mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui intensi berwirausaha dan kapasitas berwirausaha mereka. Riset ini mengaitkan sikap terhadap pendidikan kewirausahaan dan dukungan relasional dengan kedua hal tersebut untuk diuji. Sebanyak 210 angket disebar kepada mahasiswa aktif di Maluku yang sudah lulus mata kuliah Kewirausahaan namun angket yang dapat diolah hanya sebesar 188 yang selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan metode Partial Least Square. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa di daerah Maluku memiliki intensi berwirausaha. Kapasitas berwirausaha mahasiswa sendiri akan dipengaruhi oleh sikap mereka terhadap pendidikan kewirausahaan dan dukungan dari orang tua, keluarga besar, dan teman. Namun di sisi lain, sikap mahasiswa terhadap pendidikan kewirausahaan yang diberikan oleh pihak universitas selama ini belum dapat meningkatkan entrepreneurial intention mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dapat berkontribusi bagi pola pendidikan kewirausahaan yang seharusnya diterapkan di universitas di Maluku.
