About the Journal

JCER (Journal of Chemistry Education Research) is a journal of chemistry education published by Chemistry Education Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. JCER (Journal of Chemistry Education Research) is accredited by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology Republic of Indonesia ARJUNA | Akreditasi Jurnal Nasional, (Grade 2). This journal provides readers with present developments in chemistry education through the Original Research Articles and Review Articles (Systematic Literature Reviews and Meta-Analyses). Each author is responsible for the content of published articles.
JCER contains papers/articles of the ideas and researches in the disciplines of chemistry education and learning that examined theoretically and empirically. The Journal discuss thinking skills and assessment in chemistry education and learning.

All articles will be reviewed by experts before accepted for publication. JCER (Journal of Chemistry Education Research) is published twice a year in the months of June and December. The journal is open to authors around the world regardless of nationality. The Article Publishing Charge (APC) for JCER will be IDR 1.500.000 or USD 85.00 for each accepted article to cover the publication costs.

New JCER manuscript template

JCER (Journal of Chemistry Education Research) hereby announces that a new manuscript template will be implemented starting from Volume 10, No. 2, December 2026.

All manuscripts submitted for publication in Volume 10, No. 2 (December 2026) and subsequent issues are required to follow the new JCER manuscript template.

Authors are kindly requested to download and use the latest template available on the JCER website and ensure that their manuscripts comply with the updated format before submission.

Manuscripts that do not follow the new template may be returned to the authors for technical revision before proceeding to the editorial and review process.
