EFEKTIVITAS PENYULUHAN HUKUM TENTANG PENCEGAHAN DAN PELAPORAN TINDAK PIDANA PENCURIAN DI DESA SUKOMORO KABUPATEN MAGETAN

Abstract

Theft is a frequent legal issue in Sukomoro Village, Magetan Regency, particularly affecting agricultural and plantation lands that lack adequate supervision. This situation makes it difficult for the community to prevent or report theft due to a lack of eyewitnesses or sufficient evidence. Consequently, legal outreach serves as a preventive measure to enhance public understanding and legal awareness regarding the prevention and reporting of theft. This study aims to integrate the content, methods, and implementation of legal outreach to improve community understanding of theft prevention and reporting, while also identifying the obstacles residents face in applying the information gained and determining necessary follow-up actions. The study employs an empirical legal research method with an evaluative design. The results indicate that while the legal outreach generally met community needs and improved understanding, its effectiveness was suboptimal; implementation was sporadic, the content was not fully contextual, and there was a lack of periodic evaluation. Key obstacles included the area's remote geography, a scarcity of witnesses and evidence, and a lack of security infrastructure. Therefore, sustainable legal outreach, strengthened cooperation among the village government, police, and community, and improved local security systems are essential to effectively prevent and report theft.
