Kecemasan Sosial dan Validasi Daring pada Karakter Link dalam Mainstream (2020)

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana karakter Link dalam Mainstream (2020) mengalami dan mengekspresikan kecemasan sosial di tengah tekanan visibilitas digital, menggunakan model kognitif Clark dan Wells tentang Gangguan Kecemasan Sosial sebagai kerangka teori utama dan teori Uses and Gratifications (U&G) sebagai kerangka pendukung. Clark dan Wells (1995) menjelaskan bahwa kecemasan sosial berkembang melalui distorsi persepsi diri, ketakutan akan evaluasi negatif, perhatian yang berfokus pada diri sendiri, dan perilaku keamanan yang maladaptif, sementara teori U&G menggambarkan bagaimana audiens secara aktif mencari hiburan, penguatan identitas, interaksi sosial, dan validasi sehingga membentuk pola perilaku kreator konten. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis adegan, dialog, dan elemen visual, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kecemasan sosial Link tampak melalui cara berbicara defensif, penarikan diri emosional, rasa bersalah berlebihan, dan sensitivitas tinggi terhadap kritik publik, serta bahwa gratifikasi audiens sangat memengaruhi perilaku daring Link hingga mendorongnya melakukan tindakan ekstrem demi mempertahankan perhatian dan persetujuan. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa karakterisasi Link mencerminkan interaksi destruktif antara kecemasan sosial dan pencarian validasi daring dalam budaya digital, sehingga memberikan pemahaman lebih luas mengenai bagaimana film menggambarkan kerentanan psikologis yang dibentuk oleh tekanan digital.
