Mount Klotok is located in Kediri, part of the Wilis mountain range. There is not widely information about the diversity of herbaceous vegetation and its potential as medicine plants on Mount Klotok. This study aims to analyze the Importance Value Index (IVI) of herbaceous plants and its diversity index of herbaceous vegetation also the potential of herbs as medicines in Mount Klotok, Kediri. This research uses a quadratic transect, with a transect line of 60 m long. 2x2 m plots with 30 plots were placed along the transect line semi-randomly. The herbaceous vegetation in the Mount Klotok area consists of 8 species belonging to 5 families. Eight species have been found, but only seven species potentially as drugs. The highest significance index was Ottochloa nodosa (90.09%), while the lowest IVI was Mikania micrantha (1.47%). The highest IVI is Ottochloa nodosa because the seeds are light and easily carried by the wind, so they can spread faster. The diversity index (H') in the Mount Klotok area is 0.64, which is relatively low. The H' is inadequate because Ottochloa Noosa dominates this vegetation more than other species. Based on the literature study, these herbs were used in traditional and modern medicine. The information about herbs diversity can equip plant species on Mount Klotok, as well as the potential of herbs as medicines.
