Abstrak

Lingula anatina merupakan salah satu spesies purba yang masih eksis dan tidak mengalamai perubahan pada morfologi cangkangnya sejak zaman Silurian. Lingula anatina hidup dengan cara menggali substrat pasir hingga lumpur di ekosistem mangrove. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan variasi morfologi dan morfometri L. anatina yang ditemukan di Selat Madura, Jawa Timur. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling dengan cara menggali substrat di area plot hingga kedalaman 5-10 cm. Karakter morfologi dianalisis berdasarkan bentuk cangkang, sedangkan lima profil morfometri dianalisis menggunakan metode Principal Component Analysis (PCA) dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak PAST versi 4.12. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan tiga variasi morfologi L. anatina. Sementara itu, L. anatina diketahui memiliki profil morfometri pada rentang data yang bervariasi. Penelitian ini juga menemukan anomali kemunculan atau rekaman pada tiga individu L. anatina.
