Who Can Submit?

JSSEI accepts manuscripts from researchers, lecturers, educators, students, and practitioners who have scientific works in accordance with the focus and scope of the journal. Authors must have the right to submit manuscripts and be responsible for the authenticity and content of the work submitted.

 

Types of Articles

JSSEI accepts several types of scientific articles, including:

1. Original Research Articles: articles that present empirical research results in clear methods and contribute to science education and learning innovation.
2. Review Articles: articles that discuss, analyze, and synthesize the results of previous research in a systematic or comprehensive manner.
3. Conceptual Articles: articles that develop new ideas, conceptual frameworks, or perspectives relevant to the field of science and innovation education.

JSSEI also accepts systematic literature review, scoping review, and bibliometric review in accordance with the focus and scope of the journal.

 

Before Submission

Before submitting a manuscript, the author must ensure that:

1. The manuscript is an original work and has never been published or is in the process of being reviewed in other journals.
2. The manuscript is in accordance with the focus and scope of JSSEI.
3. The research has met the applicable research ethical principles.
4. The manuscript has followed the JSSEI Manuscript Template.
5. Citations and reference lists have been written consistently using the APA
6. All tables, images, and materials from other parties have included sources or permission to use when required.
7. Manuscripts have been checked for possible plagiarism before submission.

Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements can be returned to the author or not proceed to the peer review stage.

 

Publication Process

Each manuscript submitted to JSSEI will go through several stages before being published:

1. Manuscript Submission. The author submits the manuscript through the JSSEI OJS system.
2. Initial Evaluation. The editor checks the suitability of the manuscript with the journal's focus, format, completeness, and ethical aspects.
3. Peer Review. Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements are sent to the reviewer through the double-blind peer review system.
4. Editorial Decision. Based on the results of the review, the editor can decide to accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
5. Revision. The author makes corrections according to the comments of the reviewer and editor.
6. Final Decision. The editor conducts a final check before the manuscript is declared accepted.
7. Copyediting and Layout. Manuscripts received through the process of editing and layout arrangement.
8. Proofreading and Publication. Authors check final proofs before the article is published online.

 

Manuscript Template

Authors are required to use the JSSEI Manuscript Template that has been provided by the journal. Templates are used to ensure uniformity of format, structure, and presentation of articles.

Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Author Guidelines before being submitted through the OJS system.

 

Online Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted online through the JSSEI Open Journal Systems (OJS) system. The author who submits is responsible for the completeness of the information and documents submitted during the submission process.

Manuscripts must be uploaded in the file format specified by the journal. Authors are also obliged to ensure that all article metadata, including title, author name, affiliation, email, abstract, keywords, and references, has been filled in correctly.

 

Initial Evaluation

Every incoming manuscript will go through an initial check by the Editorial Team. The inspection includes:

1. Conformance to the focus and scope of JSSEI.
2. Completeness and format of the manuscript.
3. Conformance to the author's guidelines.
4. Plagiarism or similarity check of manuscripts.
5. Completeness of the ethical aspects of research.
6. Basic quality and scientific contribution of the article.

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements can be returned to the author or rejected at the initial stage (desk rejection) before entering the peer review process.

 

Submission Declaration and Verification

By submitting the manuscript, the author stated that:

1. The manuscript is the author's original work.
2. The manuscript has not yet been published and is not being considered for publication in another journal.
3. All authors have agreed to submit manuscripts and final versions of articles.
4. The data and information presented in the article can be accounted for.
5. All sources used have been listed correctly.
6. The research has been carried out in accordance with applicable research ethical principles.

The author is responsible for the correctness of all information provided during the submission process.

 

Author Guidelines

The manuscript must be written clearly, systematically, and follow the article structure set by JSSEI. In general, research articles can consist of:

Title; Authors and Affiliations; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgments (optional); dan References.

Authors must use good, easy-to-understand language and ensure that tables, figures, equations, citations, and reference lists are presented in accordance with the journal's requirements.

References should be relevant to the research topic and written using APA style with the help of reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or similar applications.

 

Revised Manuscript

The author is obliged to revise based on the comments and recommendations of the reviewer and editor. The revised manuscript must be accompanied by a response to each comment given.

Changes made must be clearly identifiable so that it is easier for reviewers and editors to check the results of the revision. Revised manuscripts must be submitted through the OJS system within the time limit specified by the editor.

 

After Acceptance

Once the manuscript is accepted, the article will enter the production stage. The editorial team will edit and arrange the layout according to the JSSEI publication format.

Authors may be asked to check or provide clarification on certain parts of the manuscript before the article is published.

 

Proof

Authors will receive proof articles to check for errors in text, tables, images, and layouts. Checks at this stage are aimed primarily at correcting production errors and not at making major changes to the content of the article.

The author is expected to return the results of the proof check within the time specified by the editor so that the publication process can run according to schedule.

 

Supplementary Materials

Authors may include supplementary materials that support the article, such as datasets, research instruments, learning materials, supplementary tables, or other supporting materials if relevant.

Additional material must be directly related to the article and not contain information that violates the privacy, research ethics, or copyright of others.

 

Article Processing Charge

The provisions regarding Article Processing Charge (APC) are set by JSSEI and are transparently informed to the author.

If there is a publication fee, the fee does not affect the editorial decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. Information regarding the amount of the fee, payment terms, and possible fee waiver will be included in the JSSEI Publication Fee policy.
