Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submitted manuscript is a manusript that has not been published before or is under congideration of other journals.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

EduStream: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar

  1. The purpose of EduStream: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar is to publish original research, ideas, perspectives, and the dissemination of knowledge in Elementary Education and Learning.

  2. Manuscripts for JIPP are highly encouraged to be submitted online by registering on the JIPP website: https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/jpd/login

  3. The manuscript must be either original research (research article) or a literature review (review article).

  4. Submitted manuscripts must not have been published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors must include a Statement of Originality during the submission process.

  5. Manuscripts must be written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English, with a length of 5 to 15 pages.

  6. The manuscript title must be written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia using Times New Roman, font size 11, bold.

  7. Author names (without academic titles) must include full names, affiliations, and individual email addresses.

  8. The abstract should be written in paragraph form, 200–250 words in length, in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, using Times New Roman, font size 11, italic. The abstract should include a brief introduction, research objective, brief methodology, results and discussion, and conclusion. It must be concise, clear, and informative. More information is available in the JIPP template.

  9. Keywords (maximum 5 words) should be listed below the abstract in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.

  10. The manuscript (Introduction, Research Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion) should use Times New Roman, font size 11, single-spaced, on A4-sized paper (210 x 297 mm). Full details are provided in the Template.

  11. Submitted articles must be original research (with a clear statement of originality or state of the art in the introduction) or a review article in the field of education and learning (refer to the journal's focus and scope).

  12. Research articles must include: Title, Author Name(s), Affiliation/Institution, Email, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, and References.

  13. Review articles must include: Title, Author Name(s), Affiliation/Institution, Email, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, and References.

  14. Paragraphs should be justified (aligned left and right), with a 5-character indent at the beginning of each paragraph.

  15. Figure titles should be in Times New Roman, font size 10, centered, single-spaced, and placed below the figure.

  16. Tables should be single-spaced. Decimal points should indicate numerical positions, and zeroes must be included (e.g., 0.333 instead of .333). Columns and rows must be clearly labeled. Table titles should use capital letters at the start of each word, placed above the table. Font size should be 10 pt or adjustable. Table format examples can be found in the Template.

  17. Diagrams, charts, schematics, or flowcharts should use Times New Roman, single-spaced. Font size should be 10 pt or adjustable.

  18. Equations must be numbered on the right-hand side in parentheses. The International System of Units (SI) and standard abbreviations should be used. Use a period as the decimal point in English articles (e.g., 0.5). Avoid abbreviations unless previously defined or commonly known. Footnotes are not allowed.

  19. Any financial or substantive conflicts of interest that could affect the research outcomes or interpretation must be disclosed in the manuscript. All sources of financial or non-financial support must also be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section.

  20. The Introduction must include the state of the art, a gap analysis, and the research objective. The state of the art should discuss prior similar research and cite at least 10 academic articles. The gap analysis should state why this research is necessary and reflect the novelty of the study. The final part of the introduction should state the research objective. General definitions and excessive theoretical explanations should be avoided, as the journal’s audience consists of academic readers.

  21. The Research Method must be described thoroughly and in detail so that it is reproducible. It should include the research design, data collection techniques, data sources or participants, and data analysis methods. General methods do not need to be detailed.

  22. The Results section summarizes the findings. It does not need to detail every result but should present data (tables or graphs) and hypothesis testing that support the discussion.

  23. The Discussion is the most important part of the article. It should answer the research questions, interpret findings in the context of existing knowledge, confirm or challenge previous research, propose new theories, and/or modify existing theories.

  24. Results and Discussion must address the questions: What? Why? What else? Findings must be clearly explained and compared with theories and past studies, discussed comprehensively with at least 5 references. The final paragraph should outline the implications of the findings for the field.

  25. Mathematical equations should be written using Microsoft Equation Editor or Design Science: MathType – Equation Editor. Equation numbers must be placed on the right side in order of appearance.

  26. Figures, graphs, diagrams, and charts should have titles placed below the object.

  27. All figures, graphs, diagrams, charts, and tables must be referenced in the discussion. Tables should have their titles placed above the table.

  28. The Conclusion must be in paragraph form. It should be concise, not restate the research results, and must answer the research question. Do not include suggestions. The conclusion must address the research objective/question and should not repeat the abstract or simply restate the experimental results.

  29. References must be listed in alphabetical order. Every cited source must appear in the reference list, and every item in the reference list must be cited in the manuscript. A minimum of 15 references is required, with at least 80% from recent scholarly journal articles (published within the last 10 years). Reference management using Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero with APA style is highly recommended.

  30. All articles submitted to EduStream: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar will undergo a blind peer review by at least one expert in the field. Manuscript acceptance depends on the novelty, significance, accuracy, originality, clarity, and alignment with the journal’s objectives.

  31. The editorial board reserves the right to accept, return for revision, or reject submitted manuscripts.

Online Submissions

Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.


2. Guidelines for Manuscript Submissions of the EduStream: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar Manuscript Submission

The author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:

  1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of the journal, i.e. Original Research Articles, Review Article, or Short Communication. Thus, the author must check-mark on the submission checklists. An author should type or copy-paste Covering Letter in Letter to Editor.
  2. Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded. Do not upload cover letter and other supplementary files here.
  3. Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
  4. Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter. Therefore, click on Browse button, choose the files, and then click on Upload button.
  5. Step 5 – Confirming the Submission:  Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to governance and public secutiry journal, click Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site. 

After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes a status of manuscript review and editorial process.
