Peer Review Process

The Journal of Sports Coaching and Performance Education (JSCPE) implements a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of every published article. The review process involves authors, editors, section editors, and independent reviewers.

JSCPE adopts the Double-Blind Peer Review model, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to ensure fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Editorial Office and the Editor-in-Chief to evaluate their suitability with the journal's aims and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, ethical standards, and overall manuscript quality. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be rejected or returned to the authors for revision before entering the peer review stage.

Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in sports coaching, sports science, physical education, performance analysis, or related fields. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, scientific contribution, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to the journal's scope, and the validity of the conclusions.

The review process generally takes 2–4 weeks, although the duration may vary depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript. Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision;
  • Accept with minor revisions;
  • Accept with major revisions;
  • Reject.

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers' comments and submit a detailed response to each comment. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

The final publication decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' recommendations and the scientific quality of the manuscript. On average, the entire process from submission to publication takes approximately 8–12 weeks, depending on the timeliness of the review and revision process.

JSCPE is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, transparency, and academic excellence throughout the peer review process.
