Abstract

Learning motivation is an important factor that influences students' success in understanding learning materials, including the human respiratory system, which is known to be abstract and requires visualization skills. This study aims to describe the level of learning motivation of students at SMAN 11 Kerinci based on motivational indicators according to Uno, which include the desire to succeed, learning drive, future expectations, appreciation in learning, and a conducive learning environment. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with a total sampling involving 26 students in grades XI and XII IPA. Data were collected through a four-choice Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that most students were in the medium motivation category, followed by the low category and the high category. These findings indicate that students' learning motivation is generally quite good, but has not yet reached the optimal level. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need for efforts to increase motivation, especially through the implementation of more interesting learning strategies that are appropriate to student characteristics.
