Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Please follow these guidelines carefully to ensure your manuscript is accepted for peer review.

1. General Formatting Requirements

2. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title

  3. Abstract
  4. Keywords
  5. Introduction

  7. Results and Discussion (combined section)
  8. Conclusion
  9. Author Contributions
  10. Acknowledgements
  11. Funding
  12. Data Availability
  13. Declaration of Competing Interests
  14. References

3. Title

  • Position: Left
  • Style: Bold, 14-point
  • Capitalization: First letter of the title is capitalized
  • Length: Maximum 20 words
  • Content: Concise, informative, no abbreviations or formulae where possible

4. Authors and Affiliations

Author Names

  • Position: Centered
  • Style: 10-point bold
  • Format: Given name(s) followed by family name(s)
  • Superscripts: Use lowercase letters (a, b, c) after each author name to indicate affiliation

Affiliations

  • List institutional affiliations beneath author names
  • Include: Institution name, City, Postcode, Country
  • Each affiliation receives a unique superscript letter

Corresponding Author

  • Mark with an asterisk (*) after the author name
  • Provide a valid email address on a separate line

5. Abstract

  • Style: 10-point, single paragraph
  • Length: Maximum 250 words
  • Alignment: Fully justified
  • Content: Self-contained summary of article content, principal findings, and conclusions
  • Restrictions: No table/figure numbers, references, or displayed equations

6. Keywords

  • Format: Type after abstract, preceded by "Keywords:"
  • Separator: Semicolons
  • Order: Alphabetical
  • Quantity: Maximum five (5)

 7. Section Headings

Main Sections (Introduction, Materials and Methods, etc.)

  • Style: 10-point, bold (implied from template)
  • Numbering: Not required but may be used

Subsections (within Results and Discussion)

  • Style: Concise, numbered if required
  • Format: Separate line for clarity

8. Body Text Formatting

All body text (Sections 1-4 and all back matter) must be:

  • Font: 10-point Yu Gothic UI Semi-bold
  • Alignment: Fully justified (both left and right margins)

Section 1: Introduction

  • Present scientific background from general context to specific research problem
  • Identify research gap
  • Explain study significance
  • No extensive literature review or result summary

Section 2: Materials and Methods

Provide sufficient detail for study reproduction:

  • Study design (experimental or exploratory)
  • Materials used
  • Sample size and sampling procedures
  • Source of samples (with appropriate acknowledgment)
  • Time and location of sampling (including seasonal variation if applicable)
  • Ethical approval statement for human/animal studies
  • Cite previously published methods; explain only relevant modifications

Section 3: Results and Discussion (Combined Section)

  • Report findings clearly and systematically
  • Follow directly with interpretation and scientific explanation
  • Compare with previous studies (similarities, differences, novelty)
  • Avoid repeating data already presented in tables/figures
  • Use subsections for logical organization by variables, treatments, or experimental stages
  • Include statistical parameters (e.g., mean values with standard deviation)

Section 4: Conclusion

  • Summarize main findings concisely
  • Emphasize how findings address research objectives
  • Highlight scientific significance and practical implications
  • May include brief recommendations or future research directions
  • No detailed data repetition or extensive discussion

9. Tables and Figures

General Requirements

  • Cite sequentially in the text
  • Do not duplicate the same dataset in different formats
  • Each table/figure must have a caption/title

Figure Captions

  • Format: "Figure X. Type the caption of the figure."
  • May include sub-figure labels (a, b, c) with descriptions

 

10. Author Contributions

  • Format: 10-point, fully justified, sentence form
  • Content: Specific role of each author using initials
  • Separator: Semicolons between contributions
  • Requirement: Each author must have made substantial intellectual contribution

 

11. Acknowledgements

Recognize individuals, institutions, or organizations that provided:

  • Technical support
  • Language editing
  • Proofreading
  • Administrative assistance
  • Note: Funding sources must be stated here OR in separate Funding section

 

12. Funding

Clearly state all sources of financial support:

  • Name of funding agency
  • Grant number (if applicable)
  • Grant recipient
  • If no external funding: explicitly state "This study did not receive specific external funding"

 

13. Data Availability

Describe where and how supporting data can be accessed:

  • Included within the article
  • Public repository (provide repository name, accession number, or DOI)
  • Available from corresponding author upon reasonable request
  • Explain any restrictions on data access

 

14. Declaration of Competing Interests

Disclose any potential conflicts of interest:

  • Financial relationships
  • Personal or professional relationships
  • Employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, expert testimony, patents

If no conflicts:

The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper.

 

15. References

Citation Style: Vancouver

In-text citations:

  • Use Arabic numerals in brackets: [1], [2]
  • Number consecutively in the order they appear in text

Reference List:

  • Arrange numerically (NOT alphabetically)
  • Use official journal abbreviations per Index Medicus
  • Fully justified alignment

Submission Checklist

Before submitting, verify that:

  • Title is 20 words or less, bold, centered, 14-point
  • All author names and affiliations are correctly formatted with superscript letters
  • Corresponding author is identified with email provided
  • Abstract is single paragraph, ≤250 words, no references or tables/figures
  • Keywords: 5 maximum, alphabetical, semicolon-separated
  • All body text is 10-point Yu Gothic UI Semi-bold, fully justified
  • Results and Discussion are combined (not separate sections)
  • Tables and figures are cited sequentially and have proper captions/titles
  • References follow Vancouver style with numbered in-text citations
  • All required sections (Author Contributions, Funding, Data Availability, Competing Interests) are included
  • Competing interests statement is provided (even if "none to declare")
