PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN FEM (FUN & EASY MATH) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS DAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA POKOK BAHASAN HUBUNGAN ANTAR-SATUAN PANJANG

Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research was aimed to describe implementation of Fun & Easy Math approach to increase students activities and mathematic learning result on relationship-between lengths topic in fourth grade of elementary school. Using Fun & Easy Math approach, the mathematics material taught by using patterns and rules that were easier to learn and students were invited to participate in game and giving praise / rewards for students and groups that were active so that learning math became fun. This research Fun & Easy Math w Fun & Easy Math s a classroom action research that consists of some stages, (1) planning, (2) action and observation, (3) reflection.   The setting of this research was fourth graders of Sleman 4 Elementary School. The data of students activities were collected using observation and students learning result with examination. The data analysis used was descriptive quantitative. The results of the research cycle 1 was (1)  the feasiblityof Fun & Easy Math based on teachers activity was 98.48% and its mastery was 93.94%(categorized as good);  (2) students activity was 80.88%, (categorized as active), (3) all 28 students gave positif responses on the implementation of Fun & Easy Math; (4) Average score of first cycle of student achievement was 75,98 and the completeness of teaching and learning process was 71,43% . This findings showed that research achievement on students activity and learning outcomes had not fulfilled the indicator of success. Thus, it was necessary to act in cycle 2. (1) the feasibility of Fun & Easy Math was 100% and its mastery was 98.30% (categorized as very active) (2) the percentange of students activity was 90.68% (categorized as active), (3) all 28 students gave a positive responses of Fun & Easy Math implementation; (4) The average score of first cycle of students learning result was 90.98 and completeness of teaching and learning process was 100%. The Indicators of success in the aspect of learning outcomes had been achieved in cycle 2.  Therefore, the research was stopped.  Based on the analysis, it is concluded that the implementation of the Fun & Easy Math approach can increase students activities and mathematic learning result on relationship-between lengths topic in fourth grade.

 ABSTRAK                                                                                         

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan Fun & Easy Math untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sleman 4 pada pokok bahasan hubungan antar-satuan panjang. Melalui penerapan pendekatan Fun & Easy Math materi matematika diajarkan dengan menggunakan pola dan aturan yang lebih mudah untuk dipelajari dan siswa diajak untuk berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan permainan serta pemberian pujian/hadiah bagi siswa dan kelompok yang aktif sehingga pembelajaran matematika menjadi menyenangkan. Penelitian ini pada siswa kelas IV. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Setiap Siklus terdiri dari tahap (1) perencanaan, (2) tindakan dan observasi, (3) refleksi. Data aktivitas siswa diperoleh melalui observasi. Sedangkan data hasil belajar siswa diperoleh melalui tes tertulis. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian siklus 1 adalah (1) keterlaksanaan pendekatan Fun & Easy Math ditinjau dari aktivitas guru sebesar 98,48% dan ketercapainnya sebesar 93,94% (sangat baik); (2) persentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 80,88% (aktif); (3) semua siswa (28 anak) memberikan respon positif terhadap penerapan pendekatan Fun & Easy Math; (4) nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 75,98 dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 71,43%. Data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa indikator keberhasilan penelitian pada aspek aktivitas siswa dan hasil belajar belum tercapai sehingga penelitian dilanjutkan ke siklus 2 dengan beberapa perbaikan. Hasil penelitian siklus 2 adalah (1) keterlaksanaan pendekatan Fun & Easy Math sebesar 100% dan ketercapainnya sebesar 98,30% (sangat baik); (2) persentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 90,68% (sangat aktif); (3) semua siswa (28 anak) memberikan respon positif terhadap penerapan pendekatan Fun & Easy Math; (4) nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 90,98 dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 100%. Indikator keberhasilan pada aspek hasil belajar sudah tercapai di siklus 2. Sehingga penelitian dihentikan di siklus 2. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan Fun & Easy Math dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV.
