Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak perubahan iklim, baik terhadap lingkungan maupun terhadap tokoh utama. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori ekokritik untuk mengkaji dampak perubahan iklim, dan teori psychoterrratic untuk menganalisis dampak psikologis yang dialami oleh para tokoh sebagai respon terhadap krisis iklim. Sumber data diperoleh dari narasi dan dialog di dalam novel karya Nick Fuller Googins yang berjudul The Great Transition (2023), dengan metode analisis kualitatif. Temuan studi menunjukkan bahwa perubahan iklim menyebabkan perubahan lingkungan yang signifikan, seperti polusi udara akibat kebakaran hutan, pencemaran sampah plastik di wilayah pesisir, kematian fauna akibat penyakit dan hama, perpindahan spesies, serta kenaikan permukaan air laut akibat mencairnya es. Selanjutnya, dampak-dampak tersebut juga mempengaruhi kehidupan para tokoh, yang tercermin melalui respon psikologis seperti kecemasan ekologis, yang menegaskan beban emosional akibat perubahan iklim terhadap individu. Oleh karena itu, perubahan iklim dapat dikategorikan sebagai ancaman besar terhadap kelestarian lingkungan dan kesejahteraan manusia.
