Peer Reviewer Process

Reviewer Suggestions and Peer Review Process

Authors may suggest up to 10 potential reviewers for their submitted manuscript. Each suggested reviewer should include the following details: title, full name, institutional affiliation, mailing address, and email address. In addition, authors may request that up to 5 specific individuals not be selected as reviewers, provided that a valid reason is given.

All proposed reviewers must meet the following qualifications:

  • Hold a Scopus ID or Researcher ID (Thomson Reuters),

  • Or be listed as a first author in this journal,

  • And possess at least a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent).

Reviewers may also be selected from academic journals published by reputable publishers such as Elsevier or Springer, as long as they are not affiliated with the same institution as the author(s) and preferably come from a different country. Reviewers must also be free from any conflict of interest with the author(s) or the submitted manuscript. However, the Editor retains full discretion in selecting reviewers and is not obligated to use those suggested by the author(s).

All manuscripts submitted to Lex Favor Reo will undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which both reviewers and authors remain anonymous. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two experts in the relevant field.

The Editor may appoint reviewers from:

  • The journal’s official list of reviewers,

  • Reviewers suggested by the author(s),

  • External researchers,

  • Or members of the Lex Favor Reo Editorial Board.

The decision to accept a manuscript will be based on the following criteria:

  • Originality of the research,

  • Relevance and importance of the topic,

  • Accuracy and validity of the content,

  • Clarity of presentation,

  • And alignment with the journal’s scope and objectives.

Manuscripts may receive one of the following decisions:

  • Accepted without revision,

  • Accepted with minor or major revisions,

  • Or rejected.

The Editorial Board will make the final decision, taking into account the reviewers’ feedback. The review outcome will be sent to the author by email, and the author will be given up to 8 weeks to revise and resubmit the manuscript according to the reviewers’ and editors’ suggestions.
