Focus and Scope

JSES is available for free (open access) to all readers. The articles in JSES include developments and researches in Sports and Exercise Sciences (theoretical studies, experiments, and its applications), including:

  • Strength and Conditioning
    • Strength and conditioning area focuses on research related to the development of strength, endurance, speed, agility, and physical capacity, including resistance training methods, plyometrics, weight training, and effective recovery strategies.
  • Sports Coaching
    • The sports coaching area emphasizes theories and practices of coaching, training strategies, periodization planning, team management, and evidence-based skill teaching methods to enhance athlete performance.
  • Sports Biomechanics
    • Sports biomechanics area examines the mechanics of human movement in the context of sports, including the analysis of forces, angles, movement patterns, and the use of technologies such as motion capture to optimize techniques and prevent injuries.
  • Sports Physiology
    • Sports physiology addresses the body’s responses and adaptations to physical activity, including cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic, and neuromuscular functions, as well as the effects of aerobic and anaerobic training, nutrition, and hydration on performance.
  • Sports Psychology
    • Sports psychology discusses the mental and behavioral aspects of athletes, such as motivation, concentration, emotional regulation, and the application of mental skills training to improve mental toughness in competition.
  • Sports Pedagogy
    • Sport pedagogy focuses on the principles, methods, and practices of teaching and learning in sports and physical education, including curriculum design, instructional strategies, and the development of motor skills across various age groups and abilities.
  • Sports Medicine 
    • Sports medicine combines medical science and sports to prevent, diagnose, manage, and rehabilitate injuries, as well as to maintain athlete health and safety during training and competition.
