Focus and Scope
JETIS (Journal of Education Technology and Information System) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of technologies and information systems in education. The journal serves researchers, educators, system developers, and educational leaders working at the intersection of learning, technology, and information systems across schools, higher education, vocational training, and lifelong learning.
JETIS covers two complementary areas. The first, Learning Technologies, addresses how technology supports learning, teaching, and assessment, including intelligent and adaptive learning systems, artificial intelligence in education, learning analytics, technology-enhanced assessment, online, mobile, and immersive learning environments, and collaborative and social learning tools. The second, Information Systems in Education, addresses the systems that manage and sustain educational institutions, including the design and integration of educational information systems, educational data management and decision support, usability and adoption of educational systems, IT governance and digital transformation in education, and the security, privacy, and emerging technologies that underpin them.
The journal prioritizes studies that make a clear technological or systems contribution, such as a new system, model, algorithm, framework, or rigorous empirical evaluation, rather than descriptive reports of technology use. JETIS welcomes quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and design-based research, as well as systematic reviews that advance the field. The journal particularly encourages evidence from diverse educational contexts, including emerging economies and Southeast Asia, to broaden the global knowledge base of educational technology and information systems.
