By submitting and publishing a manuscript in JCollBiomed, authors agree to the following terms.

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright and all applicable moral rights associated with their work.

The copyright statement displayed in each published article will be:

Copyright © [Year] by the author(s). This article is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

The year will correspond to the year in which the article is formally published.

2. Right of First Publication

Authors grant JCollBiomed and its publisher:

• The right of first publication;
• A non-exclusive licence to publish and distribute the article;
• The right to identify JCollBiomed as the original place of publication;
• The right to reproduce, display, preserve, archive, index, and disseminate the article in electronic, print, and machine-readable formats;
• The right to deposit article metadata and full text in indexing services, repositories, digital preservation systems, and scholarly databases; and
• The right to assign a DOI or other persistent identifier to the article.

These rights do not constitute a transfer of copyright. Authors remain the copyright holders of their published work.

3. Creative Commons Licence

Unless otherwise stated, all articles published in JCollBiomed are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

Under the CC BY 4.0 licence, users may:

• Copy and redistribute the article in any medium or format;
• Translate, adapt, remix, and build upon the article; and
• Use the article for research, educational, commercial, or non-commercial purposes.

Reuse is permitted provided that users:

• Give appropriate credit to the original author(s);
• Provide the complete citation of the original publication;
• Identify JCollBiomed as the original place of publication;
• Provide a link to the original article and its DOI, when available;
• Provide a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence;
• Indicate whether any changes or adaptations were made; and
• Do not imply endorsement by the author(s), JCollBiomed, or its publisher.

No additional legal or technological restrictions may be applied that would prevent others from exercising the rights permitted under the licence.

4. Author Warranties

By submitting a manuscript, the author(s) confirm that:

• The manuscript is an original work;
• The manuscript does not unlawfully infringe the copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights of any third party;
• All sources have been appropriately acknowledged;
• Permission has been obtained for copyrighted materials reproduced or adapted in the manuscript, where required;
• All listed authors have approved the submission and publication;
• The corresponding author is authorized to act on behalf of all authors in matters relating to publication;
• Any prior dissemination, preprint, thesis, conference abstract, or related publication has been transparently disclosed; and
• The author(s) have the authority to grant the journal the publication rights described in this policy.

Authors remain responsible for any copyright infringement, unauthorized reproduction, inaccurate attribution, or other legal claim arising from materials included in their article.

5. Third-Party Materials

The article’s CC BY 4.0 licence applies only to content for which the author(s) or journal hold the necessary rights.

Third-party figures, photographs, questionnaires, assessment instruments, maps, datasets, illustrations, or other materials may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions. Such materials must include an appropriate credit line identifying the copyright holder and the applicable licence or permission.

When third-party material is excluded from the article’s CC BY 4.0 licence, users must obtain permission directly from the relevant copyright holder unless the intended use is otherwise permitted by law.

6. Author Distribution and Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit, distribute, or share:

• The submitted manuscript or preprint;
• The accepted author manuscript; and
• The final published version of record.

Authors may place these versions in institutional repositories, subject repositories, preprint servers, personal websites, academic networks, or other appropriate platforms without an embargo.

When distributing the accepted manuscript or published version, authors should acknowledge its original publication in JCollBiomed and provide the complete citation and DOI.

7. Additional Distribution Agreements

Authors may enter into separate, non-exclusive contractual arrangements for the distribution of the published version, including through institutional repositories, academic books, teaching materials, or other scholarly channels, provided that:

• JCollBiomed is acknowledged as the original place of publication;
• The original article citation and DOI are provided;
• The arrangement does not conflict with the CC BY 4.0 licence; and
• The arrangement does not imply endorsement by JCollBiomed or its publisher.

8. Corrections and Retractions

Copyright ownership and the CC BY 4.0 licence do not prevent JCollBiomed from issuing corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other post-publication notices when necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Retracted articles will remain accessible and will be clearly identified as retracted. Any reuse of corrected or retracted material should accurately represent its current publication status.

The following statement should appear on the journal website and in every published PDF and HTML article:
