Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to The Indonesian Journal of Rural and Regional Innovation Studies (IJRRIS) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of published works.

  1. Initial Screening

    • The editorial team reviews each submission to evaluate its compliance with the journal’s focus, scope, and author guidelines.

    • Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements (e.g., plagiarism, format, or out of scope) will be returned to the authors before peer review.

  2. Double-Blind Peer Review

    • Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

    • Both the reviewers’ and authors’ identities are kept confidential.

    • Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity, relevance, and contribution to the field of rural and regional innovation studies.

  3. Review Outcomes
Reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:

    • Accept without revision

    • Accept with minor revisions

    • Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)

    • Reject

  4. Revision and Resubmission

    • Authors are given a specific timeframe to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ feedback.

    • Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers for final recommendation.

  5. Final Decision

    • The Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewers’ recommendations, makes the final decision on acceptance or rejection.

    • The decision of the editorial board is final and cannot be appealed.

  6. Publication Ethics

    • The peer review process strictly adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

    • Conflicts of interest must be declared by both authors and reviewers.
