Ethics for Authors
Publishing in a peer-reviewed journal, the Indonesia Journal of Local Wisdom Education (IJLWE), is an important step in a researcher’s academic journey. To ensure the quality, integrity, and credibility of the journal, we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards throughout the editorial and publication process.
This guide outlines key ethical principles that all authors must follow when preparing and submitting manuscripts to IJLWE.
- Authorship and Contributions
Every listed author must have made a substantial scholarly contribution to the work. Contributions may include the conception and design of the study, data collection and analysis, interpretation of findings, or drafting and critically revising the manuscript.
What to avoid:
- Gift (Guest) Authorship: Including individuals who made no significant contribution to the work.
- Ghost Authorship: Omitting individuals who contributed significantly to the writing or research.
All authors share responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the article’s content. Any changes to authorship after submission must be justified and approved by all listed authors and the editorial board.
- Plagiarism and Originality
Authors must ensure their work is original, and that all sources and prior work are properly cited. This includes avoiding:
- Verbatim copying without quotation and citation
- Paraphrasing without acknowledgment
- Reusing figures or tables without permission
- Self-plagiarism, such as republishing identical content across multiple articles
All manuscripts submitted to IJLWE will be screened for plagiarism using similarity detection software. Any indication of plagiarism will lead to immediate investigation, and confirmed cases may result in rejection or retraction.
