Aims and Scope

Indonesia Journal of Local Wisdom Education (IJLWE) is an international peer-reviewed journal that focuses on educational practices, research, and innovations grounded in local wisdom traditions, values, and cultures. IJLWE serves as a multidisciplinary platform for scholars, educators, practitioners, community leaders, and policymakers to explore the integration of indigenous knowledge systems with contemporary educational frameworks across diverse formal, non-formal, and informal settings.

The journal seeks to promote research that explores how local wisdom contributes to holistic education—enhancing not only knowledge and skills but also character, identity, community resilience, and environmental awareness. Educational contexts include early childhood to higher education, community-based education, cultural transmission programs, and technology-supported learning with a local cultural foundation.

We publish empirical research, conceptual articles, case studies, and review papers that investigate how local wisdom informs teaching, learning, curriculum, leadership, and educational development in the global South and beyond.
