The Indonesian Journal of Labour Law and Industrial Relations (IJLLIR), Volume 2, Issue 1, June 2025, presents five scholarly articles that examine contemporary issues in labour law and industrial relations from diverse legal, social, and institutional perspectives. This issue reflects the journal’s commitment to promoting comparative, interdisciplinary, and internationally oriented scholarship on developments in labour and employment law.

A notable feature of this issue is the international diversity of its contributors, with authors representing four countries in the world: Indonesia, Malaysia, Libya and Myanmar. The participation of scholars from these jurisdictions provides valuable comparative perspectives on labour rights, employment relations, worker protection, dispute resolution, and emerging challenges in the changing world of work.

The five articles contribute to a broader understanding of how labour law and industrial relations frameworks respond to contemporary economic, social, and regulatory developments. By bringing together perspectives from Southeast Asian jurisdictions, this issue highlights both the common challenges faced by workers and employers and the distinctive legal approaches adopted by each country.
