The Indonesian Journal of Labor Law and Industrial Relations is an academic journal established by the Labor Law Concentration, Faculty of Law, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The journal serves as an academic platform for the dissemination of scholarly research, theoretical perspectives, and critical analyses concerning labor law and industrial relations. It aims to contribute to the advancement of legal scholarship and the development of labor law policies and practices at both national and international levels.
The journal particularly focuses on the study of labor law, industrial relations, and the resolution of industrial relations disputes. Its scope encompasses various legal, institutional, and socio-economic dimensions of employment relationships, including the rights and obligations of workers and employers, employment protection, labor market regulation, collective labor relations, trade unions, collective bargaining, and the implementation of labor legislation. The journal also welcomes studies addressing contemporary developments in labor law, including the transformation of employment relationships, the impact of digitalization on labor markets, the protection of workers in the gig economy, and emerging challenges in the world of work.
Furthermore, the journal provides a forum for scholarly discussions on the mechanisms and effectiveness of industrial relations dispute resolution, including bipartite negotiations, mediation, conciliation, arbitration, and industrial relations courts. Comparative and interdisciplinary approaches are particularly encouraged to provide broader insights into labor law developments and practices across different jurisdictions.
The journal welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, and comparative legal studies that offer significant theoretical contributions, empirical findings, or practical recommendations. Submissions may examine labor law and industrial relations in Indonesia or other countries worldwide. Through the publication of rigorous and relevant scholarship, the journal seeks to promote academic dialogue, strengthen legal protection for workers, foster harmonious industrial relations, and support the development of fair, equitable, and sustainable employment systems.
