ABOUT THE JOURNAL
ABISATYA: Journal of Community Engagement focuses on the dissemination of outcomes from community service activities that embody the application of academic knowledge, technology, arts, and innovation to empower society. The journal welcomes manuscripts that highlight sustainable practices, empowerment models, and the implementation of solutions addressing real-life challenges faced by communities.
The journal covers a wide range of disciplines related to community development and social empowerment, including but not limited to:
- Education and Literacy Development
- Science and Technology Application for Society
- Appropriate Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Social and Humanities Empowerment
- Language, Arts, and Cultural Preservation
- Communication and Media for Social Change

ABISATYA encourages the submission of manuscripts that demonstrate collaboration between universities, local governments, industries, and communities. The journal particularly values articles that emphasize participatory approaches, capacity building, knowledge transfer, and sustainable community impact aligned with national development goals and the spirit of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi.
Articles submitted to ABISATYA: Journal of Community Engagement will undergo the following process:
Initial Screening
The Journal Manager will conduct an initial review to ensure the article aligns with the journal's scope and meets eligibility criteria. A plagiarism check will also be performed using Turnitin.
Editorial Review
If the article passes the initial screening, it will be assigned to the editorial board based on the field of expertise for review of both substance and editorial quality. The editorial board will only review manuscripts/articles relevant to ABISATYA's scope, subject to editorial approval.
Author Revisions
Articles that have been reviewed for substance and editorial quality will be returned to the authors for necessary revisions. Authors are expected to make the revisions promptly and resubmit the article via the Open Journal System (OJS). The process of review, return to authors, and resubmission will continue as needed.
Copyediting
Once the review and revision process is complete, the article will enter the copyediting stage, managed by the Journal Manager.
Production and Publication
After copyediting, the article will proceed to the production stage, where it will be finalized and prepared for publication.
This structured process ensures the quality and integrity of articles published in ABISATYA: Journal of Community Engagement.
Publication Frequency
ABISATYA Journal is published twice a year (June and December)
Open Access Policy
This journal provides open and free access to its content, adhering to the principle of facilitating readers' access to information on community service research for scientific development.

Journal History
ABISATYA: Journal of Community Engagement is published by Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The journal was first launched in 2023. It publishes a variety of studies encompassing research in Education, Science, Technology, Appropriate Innovation, Social Humanities, Language, Arts, Culture, Communication, Socioeconomics, Sports, and Disability Studies for Community Service.
