Author Guidelines

Journal of Tropical Animal Bioscience

General information

  1. Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Tropical Animal Bioscience (JTAB) must be original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts must not be submitted to other journals during the review process unless officially withdraw.
  2. The journal applies a similarity check (plagiarism screening) using Turnitin. Manuscripts with a high similarity index (>20%) will be rejected.
  3. Authors must clearly state their contributions to the manuscript (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, collection of data, data analysis, writing, revision).
  4. Multiple authorship is allowed, including equal contribution for first authors and multiple corresponding authors, but only one author will handle communication with the editorial office.
  5. Authors must complete an author declaration form, including:
    • Author declaration
    • Cover letter
    • Title page
    • Ethical approval
    • Copyright agreement
  1. Manuscripts must comply with ethical approval, especially for studies involving animals.
  2. The journal covers topics in:

  1. JTAB is published twice a year, in June and December
  2. Manuscripts must be submitted via online journal system (OJS).
  3. Per review process and timing (2-5 months), include format checking, pre-screening, invite reviewer, assign reviewer, reviewing, recommendation from reviewer, final decision.

Manuscript file submitted

  1. Manuscripts must be written in English or Indonesian (scientific standard).
  2. File format:
    • Main text: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
    • Graphs: jpg/jpeg
    • Figures: jpg/jpeg
  3. Formatting:
    • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
    • Spacing: double-spaced (except title, tables, figures)
    • Paper: A4
    • Margins: 3 cm
    • Length: 12–20 pages
    • Include page numbers and line numbers.
  4. All figures, tables, and illustrations should be inserted in the text at the appropriate places, not placed at the end of the document.

    • Maximum 14 words
    • Clear, specific, and informative
    • Each word capitalized except conjunctions
