This second issue of the Journal of Rural and Regional Innovation Studies (JORRIS), Volume 2 Number 1 (2026), presents a collection of scholarly articles that examine innovation, resilience, and sustainability in rural and regional development through diverse thematic perspectives. The published works explore critical issues such as digital health transformation for equitable access, women’s roles in climate adaptation and food security, community-based economic empowerment, rural security innovation, the role of social capital in climate resilience, and natural resource-based tourism as a pathway for local economic development.

Through this publication, JORRIS continues its commitment to fostering academic dialogue and practical policy insights that support inclusive, adaptive, and innovative rural communities. This issue is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of how local knowledge, participatory approaches, and cross-sector innovation can strengthen rural societies in Indonesia and other developing contexts.
