Journal of Maxillofacial and Dental Sport Science (JOMADS) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated to advancing dental and maxillofacial sciences within the context of sport and physical activity. Established in 2026 and published quarterly, JOMADS provides a specialized scholarly forum addressing the growing intersection between oral health, athletic performance, physical activity, and systemic well-being.

The journal positions itself at the convergence of comprehensive dentistry and sport-related health sciences. JOMADS welcomes rigorous scientific contributions from all recognized branches of dentistry—including orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral biology, oral pathology, dental materials, forensic odontology, and related disciplines—provided that the research demonstrates clear scientific linkage to sport or physical activity contexts.

The journal publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, scoping reviews, clinical studies, case reports, and scientific communications that contribute novel insights, methodological rigor, and practical relevance to the field. Emphasis is placed on scientific validity, reproducibility, ethical integrity, and global applicability.

Operates under a fully open-access model, JOMADS ensuring unrestricted online access to all published content and promoting broad international dissemination. The journal does not impose submission or peer-review fees. Indexing and registration with Crossref, Google Scholar, International Copernicus (ICI), and other international databases are in progress beginning in 2026.

JOMADS adheres strictly to international standards of scholarly publishing and research integrity. All submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement, aligned with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines, the principles of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA) standards for transparency and best practices in scholarly publishing.
