Journal of Hospitality and Tourism (JHT)

Journal of Hospitality and Tourism (JHT) is a scholarly journal published by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA). The journal serves as a publication outlet for research findings, conceptual studies, and applied research in the fields of hospitality and tourism for academics, practitioners, students, and policy makers.

Focus and Scope

JHT accepts articles addressing topics related to hospitality and tourism, including but not limited to:

  • Hotel and hospitality management (housekeeping, food and beverage, front office)
  • Destination management and tourism marketing
  • Sustainable tourism and ecotourism
  • Cultural, culinary, and creative tourism
  • Consumer behavior and tourist experience
  • Human resource management in the hospitality and tourism industry
  • Tourism policy and governance
  • Technology and digital innovation in hospitality and tourism (such as digital marketing and smart tourism)

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Readers are entitled to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of the articles without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, provided that proper attribution is given.

Authors who publish their manuscripts in this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Copyright of the article remains with the author, while the author grants first publication right to the journal.
  2. Journal History

Journal of Hospitality and Tourism was established as part of Universitas Negeri Surabaya's efforts to support scholarly publication in the fields of hospitality and tourism, in line with the growth of related study programs at UNESA. The journal is managed using the Open Journal System (OJS) platform to ensure transparency and efficiency throughout the editorial process, from manuscript submission and peer review to publication.

Archiving

To ensure long term preservation and access to its content, JHT supports archiving through LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and/or CLOCKSS, systems that allow participating libraries to create permanent, distributed archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
