About the Journal

Comparative Law and Sustainable Development (CLSD) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), Indonesia. The journal provides an international forum for scholars, researchers, legal practitioners, and policymakers to advance research on comparative law and sustainable development.

CLSD publishes original and rigorous research examining legal systems, institutions, regulations, and policies across jurisdictions and legal traditions. The journal welcomes comparative, interdisciplinary, theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented studies addressing contemporary legal issues related to sustainable development, including human rights, environmental and climate law, governance, economic and business law, international law, digital regulation, social justice, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The journal particularly encourages studies that move beyond descriptive comparison by offering critical analysis, meaningful cross-jurisdictional insights, and implications for legal reform, public policy, and sustainable development.
