Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

General Guidelines

The ABDI Journal only accepts manuscripts which based on community service and engagement that have never been published in other journals. The Editorial Board has the right to edit the manuscript without changing its gist. The Editorial Board has the right to reject (not publish) a manuscript that does not satisfy the requirements without returning the manuscript that has been sent. Manuscripts sent are in softcopy (doc or docx file) and two copies of one-printed hardcopy.

Manuscript Guidelines

Manuscripts sent to the editor should be written in Indonesian or English and typed using the Word Processing program, with two column writing format, Arial, 12 points, single space, A4 paper size, all 2.5 boundaries cm. The template can be found here. The manuscript should not exceed ten pages. The manuscript is written with sections and systematics as follows: Title, name and address of the author (by lines), abstract in Indonesian and English, introduction, the method of implementation, results and discussion, conclusions and suggestions, bibliography.

  • Title: the title is written concisely and reflects the contents, consisting of a maximum of 15 words.
  • Author's name and address (by-lines): all authors' names are written clearly, the first author is written the first and followed by the second, third and so on. If the author is more than one with different affiliation, then each affiliation must be written with an asterisk marked as starting from a single asterisk (*) that refers to the author.
  • Abstract: The abstract contains the gist of the article including the objectives, methods, results and discussion (conclusions), and suggestions are written in no more than words. Abstracts are written in Indonesian and English, equipped with no more than five keywords.
  • Introduction: introduction contains a description of the background. This description is supported by a literature review in the form of data from both empirical and theoretical studies. In this section, goals are formulated with operational verbs.
  • Implementation Method: this section contains the methods used. The method must be explained as completely as possible.
  • Results and Discussion: the results contain exposure to findings. The data presented is data that has been processed and ready to be ready to answer the purpose (not raw data), in addition to clarifying it can be given illustrations in the form of images and tables. Information about the image directly written under the image in the middle of the page, information about the table directly written above the table, the number of images and table written in sequence and in bold, single space.
  • Conclusions and suggestions: this section contains answers to goals written in a concise and clear manner.
  • Bibliography: the writing system of the bibliography follows the APA 6th Edition. The bibliography is typed in one space. The distance between references is one with the next two spaces. Each citation must be given a reference, the bibliography does not need to contain all the reference sources, just contain the references cited in the body of the text only. Reference library uses the system name year. Example: Karim, M. (2004), for single/first authors.
