RESISTENSI PUBLIK KOREA SELATAN TERHADAP PESAN FEMINISME DALAM FILM BARBIE (2023)
Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis resistensi publik Korea Selatan terhadap pesan feminisme dalam film Barbie (2023) terbentuk dan dimaknai. Film ini diangkat sebagai objek kajian karena menyampaikan pesan feminisme melalui narasi kritik terhadap patriarki, pemberdayaan perempuan, dan kesetaraan gender. Namun, pesan-pesan tersebut tidak diterima secara universal. Korea Selatan, sebagai negara yang masih sangat dipengaruhi oleh struktur patriarkal dan nilai-nilai Konfusianisme menunjukkan reaksi yang kompleks terhadap representasi feminisme dalam film ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi dokumen dan studi pustaka. Sumber data mencakup isi film, literatur akademik, tanggapan publik Korea Selatan di media daring, dan media terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa resistensi publik Korea Selatan muncul secara institusional, simbolik, dan performatif. Mulai dari penyensoran materi promosi film, vandalisme terhadap poster, sabotase rating daring, hingga aksi meninggalkan bioskop menjadi bentuk ekspresi penolakan terhadap pesan feminisme yang dianggap mengancam tatanan sosial yang mapan. Resistensi ini tidak hanya mencerminkan ketidakselarasan nilai, tetapi juga kegelisahan sosial atas perubahan peran gender yang mulai bergeser. Dengan menggunakan teori feminisme postkolonial dan backlash, penelitian ini menyoroti bagaimana benturan antara nilai global dan identitas lokal menjadi medan penting dalam memahami dinamika penerimaan feminisme di tingkat internasiona.
