Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript has not been published previously, and has not been submitted to another journal for consideration.
  • Submission file in Microsoft Word document file format (download template). English (https://s.id/IJOK-EN) IDN (https://s.id/IJOK-IN)
  • The text is single-spaced; uses Arial Narrow font, 12 point; use italics and not underscores (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed in the text at the appropriate points, not at the end.
  • The text complies with the style (APA 7th) and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, or as in the template.
  • Fill in the complete manuscript and author information (full name, postal address, email address) in the journal system.
  • The manuscript consists of an introduction, research methods, results and discussion, and conclusions. See the Author Guidelines.
  • Authors must include a Whatsapp number that can be contacted at any time for confirmation regarding articles that have been submitted. Authors can include Whatsapp numbers in "Comments for Editors"

Author Guidelines

Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) accepts the following types of papers:

  1. Research Articles (up to ~5000 words, including references, notes and captions, or ~5 printed pages) are expected to present a major advance. Research Articles include an abstract, an introduction, up to six figures or tables, sections with brief subheadings, and upwards of 20 references. Materials and Methods should usually be included in supplementary materials, which should also include information needed to support the paper's conclusions.
  2. Reports (up to 5000 words including references, notes and captions or ~3 printed pages) present important new research results of broad significance. Reports should include an abstract, an introductory paragraph, up to four figures or tables, and about 30 references. Materials and Methods should usually be included in supplementary materials, which should also include information needed to support the paper's conclusions
  3. Reviews (up to 3500 words including references, notes and captions) describe new developments of interdisciplinary significance and highlight future directions. They include an abstract, an introduction that outlines the main theme, brief subheadings, and an outline of important unresolved questions. A maximum of 40 references is suggested. Most Reviews are solicited by the editors, but unsolicited submissions may also be considered.

Use of the article will be governed by a Creative Commons Attribution - ShareAlike license as currently displayed in the Creative Commons Attribution - ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA)

2. Author's Guarantee

The author guarantees that the original article, written by the mentioned author, has never been published before, does not contain statements that violate the law, does not violate the rights of others, is subject to copyright held exclusively by the author and is free from any third party rights, and any written permission required to quote from other sources has been obtained by the author.

3. User Rights

The Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) distributes published articles as closely as possible. Under the Creative Commons license, the Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) permits users to copy, distribute, display and perform work. Users also need to attribute authors and the Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) to distribute works in journals and other publication media.

4. Author Rights

Authors retain all their rights to the published work, such as (but not limited to) the following rights;

Copyright and other proprietary rights related to the article, such as patents,

The right to use the substance of the article in one's own future work, including lectures and books,

The right to reproduce the article for own purposes,

The right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of the article (for example, posting it to an institutional repository or publishing it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.

5. Co-authorship

If an article is prepared jointly by more than one author, each author submitting the manuscript warrants that he or she has been authorized by all co-authors to agree to the copyright and license notice (agreement) on their behalf, and agrees to notify the co-authors of the terms of this policy. The Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) will not be held responsible for anything that may arise due to the author's internal disputes. Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) will only communicate with related authors.

6. Royalties

Being an open-access journal and disseminating articles free of charge under the stated terms of the Creative Commons license, the authors are aware that the Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) grants rights to authors without royalties or other fees.

7. Author Details and Authorship: All contributing authors’ names should be added, and their names arranged in the correct order for publication. A correct email address should be supplied only by the corresponding author. The full name of each author must be present in the exact format they should appear for publication, including or exclude any middle names or initials as required. The affiliation of each contributing author should be correct on their individual author name.

The criteria of authorship are as follows; Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; Final approval of the version to be published; Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
